as I mentioned, invite buddhist monks to your house for dana. you can request to chant metta and ratana sutras, very powerful sutras.
question to ask. does a ghost have a race? like chinese ghost, indian ghost, african ghost etc? are they wearing any clothing, similar to the ones in human realm, like t shirt and jeans, or does ghost have their own clothing, ie white apparel which is often been described?

tot u already said,
"ghosts were also humans previously."
so from 3rd eye's information, for those reborn after the human realm will appear exactly as the time of dead. as there's a form of attachment from the human realm that is brought forward to the ghost realm. and those died in accident where the body is deformed would also be like that - deformed. previously an angmoh, will also be an angmoh. previously from 18th century, die also look like 18th century. i heard the 3rd eye saw japanese from the world war. they also saw those died from the tsunami in phuket. these are provided that they are born from human realm. those born from hell realm up, i'm not too sure. perhaps no difference. until they are born into animal and then into human, look then change. then cycle again.
i also imagine they like zombies in the movies. walking aimlessly. when see fresh human(food), they move in greedily to attack /snatch. also imagine they like guppies i use to have when young, swimming aimlessly also. when u drop some food into the water, they also greedily attack /fight for the food.

As far as I know buddhism will not help other than ask people to chant. As you said there are help, where can victims go to for clearing the problem of karmic debtors and wandering spirits? Frankly, I doubt there are buddhists helping victims from these two categories in Singapore.

@ Sabrina
According to the Buddha, we are the makers of our own destiny. We alone are responsible for our lives. We created everything. All our grief, perils and misfortunes are of our own creation. We spring from no other source than our own imperfections of heart and mind. We are the results of our good and bad actions committed in the past under the influence of greed and delusion. And since we ourselves brought them into being, it is within our power to overcome bad effects and cultivate good natures.
Many years ago, a close friend came to me for advice. I am just a lay Buddhist practioner, not any great master. Her friend had experienced something similar to the extent that the being appeared in front of family members which spooked them. Of course, there were also many strange things that happened which I will not go into great length.
I advised the family to do purification themselves. They had difficulties. To cut the story short, I recorded my own chanting of The 100-syllable Purification Mantra of Vajrasattva for them to play it in their house instead. I also gave them a picture of the Vajrasattva Buddha and the verses for them to chant along with the recording. I was told that the being has since left and their home has been peaceful since. There were no more strange sightings.
I believe that spirits that haunt a place have been there longer than you or I think they exist. Perhaps, we could be the one disturbing them. Perhaps, they were the first occupants of the place before us. Perhaps, it was their home before we came. However, do not jump to any conclusion that they are here to harm or not to harm us. Do not attempt to communicate to them as this will bring more harm than help.
Do not be scared Sabrina. Seek refuge with the Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma and Sangha) and once you have taken genuine refuge, you must develop strong faith that the Buddha will protect you and your family. Do not believe in any master who claimed that they have clairvoyance but does nothing to offer good advice or genuine help. There are many con-artistes out there who out-perform actors/actresses.
Taking refuge in the Buddha is a confident acceptance of the fact that one can become fully enlightened and perfected as the Buddha was.
Taking refuge in the Dharma means understanding the Four Noble Truths and basing one’s life on the Noble Eightfold Path.
Taking refuge in the Sangha means looking for support, inspiration and guidance from all who walk the Noble Eightfold Path.
Sabrina, if you believe this, doing this, one becomes a Buddhist, and thus takes the first step on the path towards enlightenment and liberation. This is the refuge whereby one is freed from all suffering. If you take refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha, you will be free from fear and trembling.

There are many especially the Tibetian Buddhism and Theravada. Their methods are immediate and effective.
We should chant, recite Buddhas' names, repent and chau dou before anything happen. If we do it sincerely, none of these will happen to us. It is difficult to solve when if we 临时抱佛脚。
Hi TS, did any tanki help so far?
why nobody answer my question?

During this 7th month, towards the end of the month, in the office around 9pm, I was photostating some doc, there is this tall figure zoom past behind me towards the end. Thought that it was my colleague (he sat at the corner), I jokingly asked him, you walk damn fast to your place. He said not him. I asked another colleague sitting in front of the photostate machine whether someone walk pass behind me while I photostating?
He said no. But I did not feel scare or whatever.

I think one need to be careful with such statement. Whatever method or sect of Buddhism practice, one employ. It is still need to be based on compassion and the person karma. It is essence of the practice, not the exterior ritual.
When one really meet a spirit than one will know what I mean. Otherwise it is purely theory speculation.
I totally agreed with Emaho on his point on taking refuges in the three treasure and not to fall for so called Master.
As for gorgorlokaychyong, u do not sound like a Buddhist, appreciate for your kind comment. However, Buddhist do not like go around blowing our trumpet for the work done. Appreciate if you will show a little respect to the Buddhist community.
reborn76 you have mentioned you chant the Japan Soka one and only one chant when you met something strange in a hotel. Under the child ghost.
I don't think you really understand the methods of Tibetan masters or that of any other buddhism sect outside of your Japan Soka.
Incidentally i also know that the Japan Soka sect is being split into two. One considered as the authentic one and the other fake one.
Your perspective is that from Soka sect while dawnfirstlight and mine are that from the traditional buddhism sect.
is there such a thing as forum ghost lol? ghost haunting in forums
I know it sounded absurb, just asking just in case.

When did I not show little respect? Don't be so judgemental. I deem you as a hostile buddhist. You as a buddhist does not speak for all buddhists. To disappoint you, I come across many friendly, kind and helpful buddhists , as for you you are the minority of the rare one out.
For your info, I do not appreciate your words to me.
As for Dawnfirstlight, she is showing her concern and help there is nothing wrong about her info.
Through your words I know you are a person with small heart. Please follow Buddha, he is so big hearted.
Who do you think you are to go round correcting people. Arrogant!

Lol, 1st time u reading comments here? It's good if people make comments and sound true and correct, so that everyone else can 'look up' to him or her. Little do they know they're going on an ego trip too.

Not the first time I read the posts here. Generally, the culture here is encouraging and healthy but I guess it is inevitable for some to show their .......
I like the way you put it, it is so true.

As a non buddhist and a person still learning to know more about buddhism, it is confusing for me. There are different types of buddhism and I am also not sure if I have come across any wrong teaching of buddhism. Buddhism is not like quoran the one book that the muslims base on. Buddhism teachings is spread all over , that is what I understand I don't mean to disrespect but speaking out of my observation.

dont answer if you believe because the scripture say so.
has anyone here really 'experienced' it?
I did not see but heard it. That was during my uncle's funeral. He was climbing up and down the stairs the whole night. I went to look at the staircase, nobody but the sound was there. I was a teenager and did not know what spirit is all about so I wasn't afraid but curious. The next morning, I heard my aunties saying that they heard the same thing and even heard my uncle doing his routine, the sound of flipping newspaper. My uncle was staying in a 2 storey house with staircase.

I know but I shall not say it openly. I can advise which temple to go to if anyone needs help urgently. Can pm me.

I think it is ok to go for immediate help. People who are being possessed by spirits need immediate help. It concerns life and death.
