Do you guys have a habit of folding your blankets after you wake up in the morning?
Most would think it is a matter of keeping things neat... but it "refine" your actions or mindfulness... it's like... from 粗调细 (coarse to fine)
The Dharma teacher shared an example or excuse by a layperson: tonight I am using the blanket, so there is no reason to fold nicely (lol)
禅盎然 lol
Err........... Never thought of that. Fold for the sake of folding. I guess you are correct. Ven.慧律says修行人心细。I think it applies to everything we do daily including folding blanket which is the thing I hate most because it means I have to get out of bed.

Hahaha... I don't even fold my blanket ._."
old MCK, wipe the sink and tap dry after He brush his teeth. :)
Japanese have this kind of habit, fold mattress, fold tatami, fold blankets.
What awe me is that the Japanese Koto Teacher (guzheng instrument) will request the student to remove all the wooden pieces upon the strings will rest from the Koto to keep neatly after the lesson.
The next lesson, the student has to put the 21 wooden pieces back on the KOTO , adjust each string and tune the do re mi at the same time. Do you know how tedious this is ?
Last time Zen master will whack student who even waste one drop of water pouring it from the well to the flask.
If we want to train mindfulness, we can start from small actions.
I have good habbits. I make sure my bible is placed nicely not on sofa, floor for example.
I keep my room tidy.

In Christianity to what I know, this is just an outside action, it is the way you practise the christianity you so proclaim that matters. Condemnation is a sin, luna!

I put my christian books properly after I read them.
Not only bible.
This is simple respect for books.
Not only christian books, manga and other books apply too.

Different. Buddhist scriptures is considered satanic.
As long the buddhist stuff is mine why I cannot destroy. I buy the book.
I do not destroy idols or books that are not owned by me.

Manga is not satanic we must treasure It.
You know the Japanese spend lots of time drawing It.
I also have Manga on Christianity.
when you say satanic, you need to point out exactly what is satanic. the practice of five precepts? the practice of awareness? the practice of letting go suffering? buddhism simply deals with the practical everyday problem of suffering and provides us the solution to that, nothing else.
whereas buddhism is grounded in everyday reality and concerns and simply seeks to alleviate human suffering, it seems some people are stuck on believing some baseless, farout and fantastic ideas that buddhism is "satanic" without even pointing out what exactly is it satanic for. this is just silly
whereas buddhism is based on direct experience, transformation and observation in everyday lives, rather than senseless unscientific beliefs. some fundamentalists of other religion choose to cling to their impractical, useless, and erroneous beliefs, such as certain things are satanic, and silliest of all that the world is going to end in year 2000 (actually the churches have believed that they are living in the end times for more than a thousand years and yet it doesnt happen), and plenty of other senseless and pointless beliefs. not to mention many geniuses and scientists like galileo were persecuted and labelled satanic and heretics for their groundbreaking scientific discoveries just because it contradicted some of the senseless, unscientific beliefs of the elite some... which is unfortunate.
if anything is evil, i'd say it is the irrational blind beliefs that are the source of all the senseless violence, wars in the world and setback to a more peaceful world based on true experiential spirituality, and scientific progression
senseless, silly, useless beliefs have no place in this forum and does not help anyone.
buddha:
So, as I said, Kalamas: 'Don't go by reports, by legends, by traditions, by scripture, by logical conjecture, by inference, by analogies, by agreement through pondering views, by probability, or by the thought, "This contemplative is our teacher." When you know for yourselves that, "These qualities are skillful; these qualities are blameless; these qualities are praised by the wise; these qualities, when adopted & carried out, lead to welfare & to happiness" — then you should enter & remain in them.' Thus was it said. And in reference to this was it said.

I hardly ever fold my blanket or make my bed, unless visitors are coming.
Yes the small things probably do add to 'mindfulness', but I think my laziness is probably stronger atm.
I won't create problem in forum.
Sorry for what I have done.
