His Holiness Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche is one of the most revered spiritual masters in Bhutan, and is the main lineage holder of the Pema Lingpa (Peling) lineage. The present Gangteng Rinpoche was born in 1955 in Bhutan and recognized by the late Dudjom Rinpoche & the 16th Karmapa. Rinpoche spent many years studying and practicing in retreat. He received all the Nyingmapa and Drukpa Kargyud teachings including complete Pema Lingpa Tercho, Dudjom Tersar and Dzogchen instructions from many of the Greatest Masters such as H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche, H.H. Dilgo Khentse Rinpoche, H.H. Je Khenpo Tenzin Dhendup, and so on. Pema Lingpa was the last reincarnation of the great Nyingma Dzogchen master Longchen Rabjampa (1308-1364), who also spent 10 years of his life in Bhutan. According to the Pema Lingpa prophecy, Pema Lingpa eventually attained Buddhahood by the name of Tathagatha Vajragarba and has a pureland named Lotus Array. Devoted disciples of Pema Lingpa would pray to be reborn in His pureland .
