  for video card, both PCI and AGP are compatible
  
  PCI generally used for sound, IEEE1394 (Firewire), Networks, TV Tuner cards, etc

  modern mbs will come with pci and agp slots....
  
  although graphic cards can fit into pci slots...the better ones usually go in the agp slot
