laptop lag until i wan to throw away

need help with this lagging problem...
scenario 1: when i playing songs with windows media player, i open any program, there will be a lag, then the song will follow the lag also, dragging the song and slowing down the tempo of the song played
scenario 2: the rate my laptop download programs from installers is slower than my desktop and during the process of downloading, it will be very laggy
scenario 3: sometimes when i open a new window or program, there will be this constant lag that will follows on. on off on off... lag->2sec->lag again->2sec -> another lag... until after 3-4 mins then will be gone...
scenario4: the worst of all... while playing online games, suddenly will lag, lag until the whole screen will freeze at tat frame for ard 4-5mins then resume back...
when these lags come i go to task manager, under performance CPU usage = 100%... why? anyone can help me with these problems? thx -

Your laptop more or less tio trojan or spyware le.
100% CPU usage is a good sign.

do disk cleanup
defrag
uninstall those progs that u never use -

Gamer?
Hardcore music video downloader?
Acer TM shouldn't be that bad....cos i'm a TM user as well...
The only symptom that appears like you've described is when it's infected. I'll reformat. -

For gaming, what kinds of games you play? Hardcore gamers usually have at least 1GB of RAM installed. How about the graphics card? -

last tym was still okay, onli recently lag like siao, getting worse.
reformat is last resort, i will try wat u guys suggested, thx a lot.
and i have been defragmenting C and D drive for exactly one day liao... nv off laptop at all...
i use to have a lot of songs in the laptop, then i transfer all out to external hard disk, no help leh... -

maplestory doesn't require a lot of ram does it? but it still lags... suddenly play half way, the whole thing will juz lag, 4 mins later then recover, after recover will have a constant lag, 2-3 secs one lag... then 1 min later no more lag... if continue play, the same sudden lag will come again -

Those games you played requires RAM and Good FXcard and CPU.
Your RAM not enough.
Your FXcard not good enough(but this one quite standard in laptops, so nothing you can do)
CPU processer not enough to play comfortablely.
My point being, i think those games took up alot of HDD space (You still haen't specify your HDD used space and free space...)
During your online gaming OR surfing undesirable webbie. TIO bug lo...
If suddenly lag, is bug at work le...

Need for speed, diablo 2 and Fifa 05 for that kind of laptop, you might as fry it man. -
