cmos checksum error

Hmmm hope some one can help.
My comp when start up some times at the black/dos screen where they say pentium dunno what etc some times will come up a message that says:
CMOS checksum error - defualts loaded
then ask me to press f1 to continue or del to setup
i press f1 to continue then when i reach windows the time gets resetted to jan 2003.
anyone can help pls?thx -

Your date gets reset, that's like the most probable cause. I can't get away with something like defrag ur hdd or reinstall MS office right?

anyway thx i just hope there is really a battery or i'll get laughed right out of the hardware shop -

Flash ur bios..but if errors continue, replace the battery.
If this fails, paint ur comp a nice attractive colour to be used as sitting stool. -

flash bios is like flush ur toilet..get rid of junk. U can do it frm windows..depending on ur mom
