overheat cos the mobo will auto reboot or shutdown when a certain high temp is hit so as to prevent damage to mobo and other devices.Originally posted by F Takumi:Suspected Causes:
1) CPU overheat - CPU fan seems to have stopped working
2) Faulty RAM
Not sure which one is more likely, advice appreciated.
change the fan blowing the processor if u can or change the tower fan...alternatively, increase the fan's rpm via the bios if it allows u. another less safe way is to increase the 'red alert' temp higher so the mobo won't so easy switch off ur pc but u risk burning ur processorOriginally posted by F Takumi:It's highly unlikely to be due to virus, it reboots at anytime, even when I boot it up using a Linux cdrom.
It must be a spell gone awry, because the PC is not mineOriginally posted by ditzy:Someone must be cursing you, make a guess.
Double ouch.Originally posted by F Takumi:It must be a spell gone awry, because the PC is not mine
I removed the casing cover and had a fan blowing directly on the CPU, but to no avail ... I will carry out a trial and error on the RAM first.Originally posted by chunyong:change the fan blowing the processor if u can or change the tower fan...alternatively, increase the fan's rpm via the bios if it allows u. another less safe way is to increase the 'red alert' temp higher so the mobo won't so easy switch off ur pc but u risk burning ur processor
What workshop?Originally posted by ditzy:That workshop must be a refresher.
You will have to observe the trend and determine for yourself.Originally posted by Cuda:I have the same problem with my laptop.
