you got to narrow the problem to the specific item...
Problem desc: Hard disc cannot detect during bootup at times....
possible cause listed from most to least probable...
1. Hard disc aging.
2. Cable fault.
3. mobo giving problem
4. grounding fault.
Analysizing portion...
1. listen to your computer during bootup...listen for ticking or clicking
(etc tick ka tick ka or click click click). if you can heard this most likely fault number 1. hard disc failure...change hard disc.
2. Requires to open the casing, with power off plug out the data cable (NOT the red yellow black cable) and plug backin again on the hard disc side and mobo...do few time to remove oxides buildups...power on test again...if not improve goto other steps
3. Check ur system date and time...if out by a lot or totally reset, you need a new cmos batt ...if your mobo have another plug for hard disc, plug your current hard disc to that...and update/auto detect IDE in your mobo cmos.
run a few time to observe any improvement ....
4. touch your metal casing with computer switch on... if it 'bites' means that either your power supply in computer is leaking or proper grounding is missing.
off power and shift your computer power plug to other socket if not direct to the wall socket. if problem still exist change the supply cable else change power supply...this step may or may not improve the situation...
