Hullo! �'m thinkg of going to MI next yr if i can make it!
Can any1 tell me more abt how MI is like? Got frenz dere oredi but dey only complain to me abt stuff dere.
How r the peeps in MI? teachers any gd? got squash, tennis courts??? -
I graduated in 2002.Not sure if this helps, there are currently two campuses, Toh Tuck and Bartley, both made up of the former Jurong and Outram Institutes.MI will be moving to their new mega campus in Bukit Batok next year, which will combine both former schools into one.
The facilities there will be similar to any Junior College.I was from the Arts Faculty so I can tell you that some of the teachers are quite motivated, and others feel it's a dead end.I thought it was the end of the road when I ended up in JI then, because of the poor identity and the lack of motivation in many students.
The main barrier here is motivation, because the ppl I've studied with are no less talented and were from top schools too, but we just happened to screw up our 'O's and yeah ..you get the point.
I've been taught by very good Literature and Geography teachers and I think I'm quite satisfied by it.But if you can enter a JC, do so, unless you don't mind taking one more year to study and work towards a good 'A' level pass.
I managed to get two distinctions and will begin my NUS term in August at FAS, possibly under the University Scholars Programme.So, it's a place where if you can learn and are willing to do independant study outside curriculum, you can score because of that one extra year. -
All I know is that there are many malay students there. Not too many chio bu as I also wait for my 173 every morning at clementi interchange.
But one thing......the gals there are more horny. -
Wah..Lazer...thanks for info! I am hoping to do somethg on Sci leh, dat's why i not sure if i can get into a JC.
My frenz r in 1st yr now but dey tell me not to go 2 MI. stuff abt lousy teachers who scold all the time and even getting it from their 'wierd' vice principle for nothing? dey also tell me dat lectures dere also a waste of time cos no 1 listen. -
There are lousy and good teachers everywhere you go.But be prepared to be more independant in your own studies if you want to do well.Sometimes the teaching is crap and stuff, but you still gotta take the As.Originally posted by coolgalz_1988:Wah..Lazer...thanks for info!
