Agreed.
Ancient people sacrificed children and animals (some still do) to the Gods because they didnt know how to keep themselves safe in times of disasters and they didnt know what caused the disasters.
So they can only turn to "the Gods"when such things happen. They sacrifice animals and children in hope to appease the Gods.

According to my buddhist teacher, there are six realms of existence....including the "hungry ghosts" level....I dunno why people seen ghosts of their same race....there is also the realm of "Hell"....below the "hungry ghosts" level....take note the realms can also mean the "state of mind" we are in....not necessarily external...

Look at what BadMaroz said on the other topic under "konghee", with regards to killing if God told him to.
He said "Given that if we are talking about an Omniscient being here, that knows and can see ahead and commands thee. Not particular Old testament context, but like I said, given the circumstances as I understand it to be, Yes, I will kill woman, children and babies. Its going to be hard.. its gonna be tough, but somebody's gotta do it."

1. Hungry ghosts? But hungry ghosts idea is not part of Buddhism right? It is part of chinese mythology.

Perhaps....Buddha used "things we understand" to explain to his disciples.... so, maybe that's why the term "hungry ghosts" level...Hmmmm....
Also "Hell" is mention in almost all major religions....so who copy who ? I dunno.... -

are there the ang moh gui, keh leng gui we talk about? but there is no teng nang gui (chinese ghost) leh?

But to nonchristians, he is only a christian God, no offense. But it is true.
You cant just expect everyone to believe that he is a god for everyone.
please respect nonchristians' view of the christian God.

About carbon dating? It seems that you are ignorant of the fact that it can only be used to date things that are thousands of years old, evolutionists do not use it to date the age of the earth because they BELIEVE the earth is so old that carbon dating cannot be used. BUT creationists have been using carbon-14 to undermine alleged “millions of years” dates. Since carbon-14 should be decayed so much as to be undetectable within about 100,000 years, then a sample tested by using methods based on uranium decay or potassium argon, etc. which yields a date of 200 million years should not contain measurable amounts of carbon-14 in the sample, and yet such samples have been found! there is a paradox of being an omniscient here. same as the can god create something he cant lift? since god is omniscient, does he know lucifer will betray him later on? if he know and still created lucifer, whose fault does this lies? why would god want to create lucifer, knowing he will become SATAN, the evil doer of the world.
also regarding the killing, what kind of a god is he if he give commands to kill? a blood thirtsy god? also is god treating us like his play thing? he doesnt bat an eyelid even if we are killed isn't it. why should he care so much about us, since we are just slaves and play toy of god. does this make any sense to you if at all? No I dun. this is absurd, beggars belief.

No I dun care about christians belief. but one thing I am concerned is this. christians beliefs are not the truth as far as science and I am concerned. I am also annoyed when christians claimed of good news to be saved when prolsetying, but its an insult when christians said your religion are false and satanic.
