Unless it is a loop service, but blame the one who planned the layout of the interchange
Originally posted by gekpohboy:Earlier this year, I deduced that this year's new bus services will be in Sengkang, Tampines, Woodlands, Choa Chu Kang, Yishun and Kallang, based on BTO completion dates. (Ref: page 20 of my posts)
So far, Tampines, Choa Chu Kang and Yishun have new bus services (Tampines 46, Choa Chu Kang 308 and Yishun 805).
Sengkang, Woodlands and Kallang should be next.
Sembawang should be around June next year...
The rumoured "68" should be launched around Q4 next year, when Tampines's "Tampines GreenEdge" (at Tampines Street 45) is ready.
How come you missed out Sembawang which will clearly get a new service with Canberra coming up.
Where in Woodlands & Kallang do you foresee need of a new service? Unless it is breaking of services into 2, then that's not really a "new" service.
Sengkang I agree has potential.

Apart from potential feeder service(s) to SK West, do you think there's a chance for a new service to the north or a smrt 972-like service to orchard?
All, compass one mall is opening its door on 1 sep 2016, almost 11 months after its complete renovation. However, there are still no news of sengkang interchange extension opening. This shows mall is opening ahead first. There will be no opening of both mall and extended interchange at the same time. Cheers. Thanks.

why u must associate compass one with the sengkang interchange extension? it is two different matter.
Cessation of Peak Period Short Services.
Hey folks! From 1 September 2016, there would be changes to some of our Peak Period Short Services (#PPSS).
Services 222P, 240P, 268P, 307P and 912P will be renamed 222B, 240M, 268B/268C, 307A and 912M respectively, and operated by either SBS Transit or SMRT. The bus routes will remain the same, and continue to offer you an alternative to get to a nearby bus interchange and/or MRT station during peak periods!
On the other hand, services 291P and 293P will be replaced by SBS Transit Bus Services 291 and 293. Additional trips will also be added for these services.
So, if you have been taking these PPSS frequently, do check the posters for any changes to the operating hours and help spread the word too :)

seriously, the operation hours for these PPSS need to be changed...
265 frequency drop after 7pm and the crowds are coming in, but 265P end at 7pm?
and wonder why 358P/359P are not mention in the press release. maybe it will 1-2 week to be announced by Go-ahead when Pasir Ris services are take over.
No need for PPSS la actually,291 buses already bunching here and there during peak hours..1 bus like 2-3 mins freq and most of the time less than half is filled all those behind buses.

Hi mr lrmon1974, sometimes they will discuss to align the opening date together. In this forum, some also remarked that they will open together previously. Cheers. Thanks.
What about the svc 164 rumours?

358P/359P will likely to be withdrawn as Go ahead group will run additional trips on 358/359 to cover from 18 sep 2016 onwards.
Now they're trying 10 buses for 358 and 11 buses for 359.Be prepared to see tortoise speed service.

Good decision to terminate those PPSS and have them operated by SBS/SMRT as part of regular service and SWT.

I would wish for an express service like:
SK -> SK East -> SK West -> YCK Road -> CTE (exp) -> AMK Ave 5 -> AMK MRT -> AMK Ave 3 -> CTE -> Jalan Besar -> Bencoolen -> Dhoby Ghaut (loop) -> Princep/Selgie/Serangoon Road & back.

Well, Svc903P is badly needed. Forever got bunch ups and delays. Probably SMRT should boost the fleet when they take over.
And I'm glad LTA is waking up..who uses coach buses on these PPSS when you don't even allow standing? Luckily, standing is rather "allowed" on 903P.

903 just add one more A22 to boost the AP shift,For the P version 4 A22s enough or what?

Even if you add 2 more, every buses is gonna get stucked at the checkpoint. So why not improve 903P that would really solve the issue?
Recently, an addition of 2 A22s to 911 had became worst. Stated 6mins, but not for certain timing. So sometimes, not everything can be done by adding more buses.
And apparently, LTA don't see that logic

LTA doesnt want bendy..Why can't LTA just buy another 20 A24s for SMRT feeders? No need to add many A22s which in turn use too many BCs?Can make a deal with SMRT that those A24s is strictly for feeders and Intratowns usage only.
Originally posted by SMB3163D:Hope 307A will get bendies..
that was our proposed route and number too! I heard 307A will have 3-4 buses on top of the original 10 buses...
A pity it is only for peak hours.. afternoon school dismissal time still no supplement...
Sometimes I really dont know what LTA is doing... Whats the point in being so stubborn. Yes, they should really just get more A24s on condition that SMRT deploy them to those feeders and intratowns only. those bendys really work miracles on feeder services. besides the feeder route areas are not jam prone. Hopefully in 2017 when the O405Gs get deregistered, they will get some replacement A24s.
Also for DDs, I think LTA has created such a mess at SMRT. For an operator that has such few units of DDs and such low experience in operating DDs, you throw them 3 models (E500, MAN A95 and B9TL)? Even SBST that has 20 yrs exp with DDs, although so many variants, all are volvo except the dennis tridents and demo units. Never understood why B9TLs had to go to SMRT when the A95s are sleeping at Bulim. Might as well have given the A95s to SMRT and those B9TLs to GAG.
