New bus service coming to Sembawang
I suspect is a Canberra feeder
You mean like how 117 should have been amended
Or what if its both ways

From what I understand, the canberra bto bus service will not be any ammendment of existing bus routes but will be a short trunk plying from Sembawang to Yishun. Not sure if terminating at yishun as limited capacity, might loop there.
There is in fact future bus stops along Canberra Link (between the 504C bus stop and the Yishun industrial asrea/ emerald condo one), one potential bus stop pair will be the one at Canberra MRT and Canberra Plaza. Soruce:
(NOTICE the future bus shelter)
I would rather having a short trunk than a feeder / ammending any services as it will be an added benefit for us.
But more services is needed .... especially one to chong pang market will be appreciated.
Dont worry...confirm there will be something for them to go there including SSC with Canberra Lane almost up
SSC shuttle bus plying canberra ... hope so
883 sembawang - yishun (loop)
I thought its a feeder?

although i hope the service is called 881 than 883, like the film 881

My guess is to be launched on 14 August or later. Via Canberra Street?
It has to do with the estimated completion date of EastBank @ Canberra, Q4 2016.

Hi mr sbs6853S, hooray. One more service for sembawang, the forgotten town. Sembawang is one of the underserved interchanges. Cheers. Thanks.
Hah, I was right. The Canberra service would be an 88x series trunk, from Sembawang looping in Yishun.
It could loop in a '8'.
Svc like 84,882 and 403 should just convert to feeders..No one will pay $1.60 fare range anyway.

I believe there's a frequency requirement to be met first … not to mention the balance between fares and demand (an unpopular service would earn more as a trunk than as a feeder) as well. Unfortunate, but that's probably how it is ~

Insider info? I had half a mind that they would use 164 or perhaps open a new numbering series.

should be around there as Eastbank / EastWave Probable Completion Date is now Aug/Sep 16 for the very first blocks
likely 3-4 stops around canberra estate

Well unfortunately most of the time its feeder fare..
883 is the correct service number.
As per the press release, the so called sv 68 has been pushed to 2017. Makes sense and glad they didn't make a mistake of launching now considering Tampines North still has a long way to go.

Hi mr busanalyser, not much of a difference between now and yr 2017. Sbs 68 is not expected to go to tampines north. Cheers. Thanks.
68 is doing the Tampines North.

Hi mr smb145B, I thought Sbs 68 is doing tampines Ave 8, st 86, st 84? What is classification of tampines north? Tampines north refers to those new flats at the other side of tampines Ave 9, right? Those flats will only be up in yr 2018-2020. That is why I say Sbs 68 is not doing tampines north. Anyway just my prediction. Cheers. Thanks.
