Temporary route which will be intergrated with 979 after road widening finished
Bukit Panjang - Choa Chu Kang North 5 (Loop)
First bus 6am, last bus 11:30pm, frequency of 30 mins
Petir Rd
Jelebu Rd
Woodlands Rd
KJE
CCK Drive
CCK North 6
CCK North 5
And back to CCK Drive as per normal 979 route
I'd rather them to extend 979 route and add 2 - 3 more buses to the fleet..

Means 1 bus only. Weird.

Hi mr SMB5007J, can take a photo? Cheers. Thanks.

Maybe 2 buses..Its hard to see LTA introduce svc with only a bus.
What is the purpose of 979M anyway?

LTA with their "new" routes, just to make the number of BSEP services to 80 ...

Hi mr TiB987K, 'M' variants not counted as part of the BSEP services. Cheers. Thanks.

But future amendments will, it gives the impression some routes are prematurely introduced to inflate the quota. Fact.
But at frequencies of 30 minutes...I'd rather walk

agreed, ridiculous freq, should at least give 15 mins freq, seems like LTA wanting to placate the limbang residents and GROs that lobbied for this route ammendment for sometime already, but should have at least a tighter frequency, or just start the service at the start of the ammended section, frequency can be improved w/o additional buses.
poor LTA planning again!

Hi mr sbs n smrt, I think you are totally mistaken. This is not route amendment. This is extra bus service 979M in addition to 979. Cheers. Thanks.

After seeing the image, you still address it in your post as a non-BSEP service?

I agree, from north 5 i can just walk to cck drive to take 979 in less than 25 mins..

I'd rather have 172 extend to JKN instead of this BPS2.

That is the kind of frequency you would expect in parts of Perth and London too.

Hi mr TIB987K, once the number is a BSEP, whatever changes after it is introduced, they have this tendency to put the BSEP logo. However, the 'M' variants are not tabulated into the actual counting of the 80 BSEP numbers. You can verify with those websites the 1st to 65th bus service what are the BSEP numbers introduced until now. Not even 1 'M' variant is counted into the official numbering. Cheers. Thanks.

theres a reason why its now listed as new bus service instead of new supplementary service

not the country that matters here..it is whether people choose to wait up to 30 minutes or walk within 20 minutes

In Perth, that is indeed the intention...so that the service would later be withdrawn altogether "due to poor patronage".

Hi mr sbs6853S, we just wait for the official announcement and listing in the website to see if they count inside the actual 80 or not. All are only predictions. Moreover, they already clearly state 979M to be a temporary measure. Once junction is widened, it will be absorbed into 979. This gonna shows it will not count inside the official 80 bus services under BSEP. Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr SMB3163D, this is only prediction. We just wait for the official announcement and listing in the website later to see if it will be listed in the 80 BSEP services. Note the red rows indicate this 979M to be a temporary measure only. It will be absorbed into 979 later on. Cheers. Thanks.
30min frequency is really no go. Either LTA is using backside to think or just wanting to hit 80 targets
