It has been a tradition that has passed down generation to generation that asking about salary is "rude". Perhaps if too little salary, they paisey; too much salary, they afraid you may borrow money from them in future or keeps hinting them to treat them or watever....Originally posted by Troy437:Wats there to be paisay about when it is hard earned money?
Ask pay first then borrow money?? Thats new
But the OP is saying within friends not ppl working within the company.Originally posted by nightzip:So, how much is your pay?
Coming back to the point, i think the HR specifically tell you or is in your terms and conditions that YOU are NOT supposed to divulge your pay to other people in the firm.
This is to prevent dissention in the ranks and people getting unhappy, like why same grade, same qualifications, but different pay, etc.
But as companies more and more follow the standard pay structure, this becomes more or less clearer as how much your pay is when you reach this position or grade etc.
Also depends on situation and mood (if they song or buay song on that day).Originally posted by M©+square:Also depends how you Ask.
How you phrase your question.
Perhaps out of curiosity? Perhaps to da ting da ting about the various job salaries ba?Originally posted by SexyChin:Why did you ask about the pay in the first place?
