Ppl can tap on your wireless modem?

I have a wireless modem which allows me to surf wireless at home & vicinity.
If someone taps my modem and surf with my modem, does it slows down my loading speed for my desk top? -

if you made efforts to setup yr basic security features, than if it does gets hack, made to use for other people's criminal causes den u can argue dat u've done yr best and wash clean of the affairs if u get questioned.

I knew of this as my fd is surfing with other ppl's modem. She dunno who but she just put her laptop near her window and her laptop got internet access liao... -

my wireless laptop can detach my neighbour's router too. too bad i cant get his wireless account setting. -
Basic WI-FI secuirty setup is good enough to block casual intruder.
Secuirty setup with the "Mac" addreess will enhence your protection.
(this Mac has nothing to do with "Apple")
But still if your intruder is an expert, don't bother, they are all out to get into your network.
You might want check on your own PC first by:
1) Run a virus scan (or how long you have not updated your virus software?)
2) When is the last time you "defrag" your HD?
3) did you open too many program at a time, therefore drained your "RAM"?
4) wireless network setup, if everything is "Auto" then your wireless device (on your laptop or PC) will from time to time rescan, re-establish the wireless connection without your actual knowledge, therefore slow down your internet surfing.
5) don't surf the internet, just run your normal program on the laptop and see if the performance is slow. if it is, then you might have drained your "RAM" too much.
6) double check, by disconnect your wireleess access (your laptop to the wireless modem, but still allow the wireless modem running and connect to the internet) use a cable to link your laptop to the internet and surf. See how much different it is, then (4) might be the issue, so you mightt have to fine tune
I am not a computer expert, but after so many years of using windows and netwrok, this is my experience and some small trick from the expert.
