Hi guys, recently i bought a handbag online from a seller residing in Singapore. She claimed that the handbag is 100% authentic but when i received it, i realized that it is a knockoff. When i questioned her about the aunthenticity, she keeps denying that its fake .So i brought it to the store in Malaysia to get it verified and indeed it was not authentic ! I told her i did not want the bag anymore and just wanted a refund. Thats when she stopped replying to my emails and even blocked me on Facebook but lucky i managed to save all her pictures and information before she private her profile. I've already made a police report in Malaysia but the useless police here cannot do anything, called up the bank and they also cannot do anything. Im so lost now i dont know what else i can do , i cannot make a police report through the SPF website cus i dont have singpass. If anyone has any advice for me please share thank you very much
Moral of the story.
Do i even need to say it?
then come to singapore to make police report loh

Dear poorboi:
If she passed off counterfeit goods as the real thing, she has committed a criminal offence (meaning an arrestable offense).
Source (penal code of Singapore)
Pls see illustrations c and d
However, there could be cases of ppl intentionally buying goods that may be fake, with the intention of charging the seller commiting criminal cheating or claiming damages in a civil code by suing the seller.
The police would investigate your statements made in the police report, and that is all they go by- (report would be handed to the investigating officer) so you have to be sure to provide the honest and correct perspective of what exactly happened. Therefore make sure a third party would be able to clearly understand your case as typed in the police report as whether the investigation officer will take action as a criminal or civil (not handed by police) hinge on the wording of the police report made.
If you have any other assistance you may ask here or seek advice from a pro bono lawyer (legal aid at maxwell or community justice centre @ Singapore state's court's)
