When I checked with Jobstreet. The qualification they were seeking to be a Librarian was a General Degree. Yes, you can even specialize in Information Studies and become a Head Librarian.
My two cents is to go look at the job portals first and find your ideal job. Then work backwards to see what kind of educational / experience requirements they have. Then choose your study path.
