Because sometimes people think, oh I have no hope because of bla bla bla... fast forward the time a few years past their depression, they are very successful, have a great career, something they never thought they could possibly achieve... but sorry, they commited suicide, they are dead before they could see this coming.And then there's the others who care for you. And then there's this thing about giving up in life... If you want to be respected, you have to take responsibilities for your life, and fight whatever shit life throws at you... suicide is a way to hide away from life's problems.
And then there's the waste of Earth's resources committed to grow you and nurture you and some people believing in you, God's belief in you, all thrown away because you suicide. You just lost the battle against the Devil who is trying to take your soul all these time. Cunning Devil.

A person commits suicide because he doesn't want to face the nightmare that is his life. He uses suicide as an escape method. In this sense suicide is not a brave thing to do.
On the other hand, it takes an enormous amount of willpower to commit suicide. I have gone through periods in my life where I felt that the only thing preventing me from killing myself was fear. I was indescribably terrified of failure, which would expose me (I was closeted about my mental condition) and put me on a 24/7 watch by my parents, as well as permanently change the way people viewed me. Another fear that kept me alive was the instinctual fear of death. No matter how much I wanted to die, I could not bring myself to finish the deed. I was prevented by my own cowardice. Sorry to ramble about my life, but my point is that it's incredibly difficult to commit suicide, and doing so requires a person to be very strong, and very brave.
Suicide is indeed an act to avoid facing the problems of life. However, the act requires one to overcome powerful instincts and fears. So yes, people who commit suicide are brave, but not in a positive sense of the word. -
Here's why suicide is bad when you're living in Singapore. Cos is so darn beautiful.

I dont have the guts to commit suicide. Moreover, I believe there are better solutions than dying.
