i have been interested to all things related to korea since long time ago...even before the kwave started. most my friends think i am a follower but i started learning korean about 6 or 7 years ago..i am now in jc but all my classmates feel i am very fake and call me a wannabe or fake korean.. they also make fun of my korean bf that i know online. i am able to read and understand all korean but my speaking is not excellent..i know this guy from a forum for korean in sg and he is a student.. i want to go to korea to live with him but my father is very angry when he know about this. now..even my mother don't give me allowance because they want me to break up with my bf..and sent me to a couselling at a hospital..zzz

i am 18.. not 22. i don't need my parents money if i get married to my bf and live at korea..but i am afraid they will disown me and it's shame if my husband family know of my background..

oh so romanatic. its not about antianlity. doyour parents even meet up with your korean bf? your korean bf parents tthey meetup with you? both families even went out for outing once to get to knwo one another? langaugae problem? love and relatioinship is 2 people's problem. but mareiage is 2 families. i am sure your korean dude family side will have teh same or similar tradition.
taking marriage into a rush is an ace only from juvenile. adults sit and discuss between families - ever so esp when face with differnt nationality or culture.

my bf i met him online but later we date in real life for a few months already..even before i have many korean friends and i know the language very well. i won't have problem to live there...but only my family is against it

Nothing wrong with having Korean BF or interested in a foreign culture.
The problem is, you are rushing into a life long commitment.
Give the relationship another year or two.
When your parents see that bf is genuine and is a decent person, they will eventually accept him.
You are not allowing nature to take its course, you are forcing your parents to accept when they are not ready.
ALL parents want their children to enjoy A happy life.
If you are mature enough, you will take it easy and not be so impatient like a little child.
To pacify your parents, u need to sit down and have a conversation with them.
Tell them u understand they have your best interest in mind, and to give them a peace of mind, you will give this relationship one/two more years to be sure.
If they see you are able to handle the situation like a mature, rational adult, they will eventually back off.

Just go korea holiday for 2 weeks, by day 9, you would start to appreciate home. Home as in Singapore, and everything else you have here.

Go lah, go Seoul, Pusan or Ji ju tao and experience korean culture and love, but dun end up crawling back to singapore ya, like me, from taiwan came here, never go back taiwan, cos young time keep saying singapore, singapore guys handsome, singapore safe and can make more money, now, no face go back taiwan even if I wanted, sure people will laugh at me.Go and experience the world, sometime, people like you need to get knock and banged, then you learn, I suggest do not waste your time with counsel or connnnn...sultant, just run away and vanish yourself in the arm of kim chi and ginseng.
