After several weeks of negotiations, 500cc World Champion Valentino Rossi has finally signed a two year extension to his contract with Honda. Rossi will ride as team-mate to Tohru Ukawa aboard the 4 stroke Honda RC211V machine for the next two seasons, with the same technical staff that as last season.
Rossi will attend an official presentation by Honda Motor Company on Monday 4th February in Tokyo. The Italian commented before leaving for Japan: 'I'm very satisfied with the way things have turned out. For me it was very important that this contract was right in every detail even though things have been quite clear for some time. Finally, the common ground between my manager and the Honda guys has allowed us to find a perfect solution for everybody and work a lot better. Now, with everything signed, I have an intense period of work ahead with tests in Sepang on the 9 and 10 February. I have a great belief in the technological power of Honda and my team and I am looking forward to getting back on the bike.'
Meanwhile, HRC General Manager Carlo Fiorani explained: 'Moving from the basic details of the contract negotiated at the end of the year to the final version has required more time than expected and we have had to bring together some different points of view between Honda Racing and the rider. Now, with everything cleared up, we can work peacefully for the next two years and I'm sure this experience will be of use to us in the future.'
He bery lucky...If not HRC is sign me one....
