Retirement age is now 62. nobody force you to retire at 55, question is, does your company wants you? I see so many aunker auntie still working, think they are 60 already. Ask them why they work, they said at home nothing to do.
I think I will retire at 50, got enough money, got enough energy, got many thing to do for fun.
Remember, retirement is your choice and your employer's choice.

Well the FTs and especially the Malaysians are smart to make themselves wealthier than Singaporeans. Besides that most citizens from 1st world countries are retiring outside their own country because its practical and rational....cost of living is lower and affordable for their retirement. -
Singaporeans are made for Singapore. I think that's the difference.

The fact now Singapore is a 1st world country and the cost of living is high now. That has changed the whole concept and view about living, working and retiring within Singaporeans mindset. -

Even when you can't afford to sustain your own living cost in Singapore? Maybe when you reach the age of 50 or 55 you will start to think differently. Now you are still young and probably you don't see it what will happen to you when you are a senior citizen. -

SECURITY BOND WHEN EMPLOYING MALAYSIAN WORKERS IN SINGAPORE For Singaporeans who are working in Malaysia, the malaysian companies need to pay a RM5000 bond with the Malaysian government when applying for the Singaporean workers' work permit. Currently in Singapore, companies in Singapore employing Malaysian workers do not need to secure a S$5000 security bond when they apply for the Malaysian worker's work permit. I want MOM to implement a new law for companies in Singapore intending to employ Malaysian workers to secure a S$5000 security bond when applying for the Malaysian worker's work permit.

I want them to vacate all their current positions. They are not willing to put Singaporeans first make it a very valid reason to ask them to leave. No nation in the world wants a govt who are not into providing good care to citizens.

I did query my department before why is it for Malaysian workers their Singapore employers do not need to secure the S$5000 security bond before their job employment whereas the other foreigners from other countries need to have that security bond. Malaysian workers are foreigners too. They can't answer my query or they don't know how to answer my query. -

Haha..I'm already into semi-retirement and staying in JB. Working on assignment basis in Singapore to make more money now. Precisely, aren't the ruling government seeing that...just release all the Singaporeans CPF amount..they will know what to do with their money and how to retire. Good luck to you ah boy when retire in Singapore later. -

I go to JB to play golf, I fly to bangkok for hot spa and massage, I go to JKT to meet up with my friends for a meal, all back in the same day. I don't feel well I see doctors whom I can trust. I never lock my main gate in the night, my children can take bus and MRT to Orchard Road with their friends...there are so many things we are doing here...we can afford it here, no need live in exile.
you stretch your money by spending less, I increase my money by investment, and in Singapore, there are many ways and opportunities. We are of different calibre.
If you were unable to work well enough to save up for retirement in Singapore, how can you be trusted with that little CPF money for your old age? I know many Singaporean spent their CPF money with women from mainland China, can happen to you in JB

Haha..even the super rich don't stay in Singapore. Their family in K.L., Bali, Thailand or Jakarta. They fly back to their home and family outside Singapore. They only invest in Singapore to make money. About foreign FTs, especially white people...they do that too. I know one white foreign banker living in JB instead of Singapore simply because there is more space and save money. The simple fact is clear, the ruling government don't want Singaporeans to spend their hard earn CPF on property outside Singapore and leave Singapore. About those Singaporeans lost their money to foreign women overseas...they are stupid Singaporeans...their faults. As my case, I'm debt free, got house in JB and married...many Singaporeans rent out their HDB flats in Singapore and stay in JB...no need to worry about cost of living..or work long hours in Singapore. That is good enough for them to survive or retire. -

The Singapore want foreigners to spend money here, we have thousands of tourists coming in here spending money, but your little hard earned CPF money, if you spend it too quickly, you will become a social burden to us, if you are a Singaporean.
Spend your little money wisely, don't buy anything you cannot afford. Most importantly, don't go to MBS, Santosa, or Genting...you can't depend on luck.

One Singaporean businessman, my neighbour in JB, shifted his business operation to JB along time ago. He is very rich and wealthy now. His main market is in Malaysia and Thailand. As for Singapore, for him he said is only a small bonus unlike in Malaysia and Thailand.

The tourists come and go within two or three days as a transit then they go other neighbouring asian countries for a longer holiday...could be months too. As about spending the hard earn CPF money too fast and don't gamble in casinos..I agree with you. Is the gambling addictions in Singapore in the rise now or is it declining now?
