I look at it as yes, benefit locals particularly the miw the pay and pay gang.
From nature point of view the endangered Singaporeans are on the way to extinction by invasive foreign aliens.
Probably this is part of their destruction plan.

Don’t just look on the negative aspect of it since we have no say in it liao.
no difference...
more people = more businesses/shops = same thing as usual just hell of a lot more crowded...
disposable income doesn't change... number of shops vying for the similar ratio of people...
only thing that changes is the absolute number of the GDP... it'll go up..
but GDP measures goods as well as bads.. if i break a leg, i go to hospital and pay for the medical fees, it all goes to the GDP, good or not.. if there's crime and they need to pay for more CCTVs, security guards and all that, it all adds to the GDP too...
in the end, it's all about the MIW and their need to collect taxes, increase GDP so that they can give themselves bigger bonuses.. for the people and businesses, nothing

these will benefit constructions, teaching, hawking, transportation….
a bigger population may benefit businesses. businessmen get richer. but the key issue is how does it benefits common citizens?
it doesnt.
take the millions of people we added the last few years as example. did it translate to benefits to common citizens? things are more expensive. inflation is at all time high. trains breakdown more frequently. the whole country is so crowded.
people are more unhappy.

Exactly who benefits?
Construction companies, private education centres, hawkers, SMRT and SBST.... but not the common man.
In the end the common Ah Lim , Ahmad and Muthusamy all lose out. They still have to contend with too many people chasing too few jobs (leading to depressed wages), a severely strained transport system (even after all the upgrades and new MRT lines), too many people chasing too few goods and services (leading to inflation).....
I noticed one thing from the government's proposal: it's all about the money. Money, money, money, money. Intangible things like quality of life and national identity have been swept aside.
And if there's one thing I've learnt about money, it is this: you only need it up to a point. All the rest is for showing off.

And who'll take up these jobs? Mostly migrant workers, one would expect. And we'll be to blame ourselves if we don't like the hawker food we get.
Can we our businesses off cheap labour? Can these jobs be made more attractive with some basic rights and favourable working conditions?
