PAP said this ''WP has let down the voters of Hougang'' on Yaw incident. It seems like ytd was the other way round. Speaker of parliament lets down PAP and PE residents
REFORM PARTY'S STATEMENT ON MICHAEL PALMER’S RESIGNATION
The Reform Party notes PAP MP for Punggol East, Michael Palmer’s resignation this afternoon. Marital infidelity and breakdown is sad whatever the circumstances and our thoughts are with the respective families.
The Reform Party urges the PM to call a by-election as soon as possible in order that the people of Punggol East may exercise their democratic right to be represented in Parliament.
The Reform Party was one of the strongest and most vocal advocates at the time of the Hougang vacancy and fully supportive of Mdm Vellama’s case for a judicial review of the by –election laws. The Party’s views on the need for timely by –elections are a matter of record. Please see the links to our previous press releases on this subject below.
The residents of Punggol East should not be deprived of the ability to choose what they consider to be the most attractive ideology or the candidate that will be most effective in holding the government to account. Furthermore in GE 2011 we were prevented from being able to contest any SMC, even in areas where we had been conducting outreach for some time. For these reasons we are strongly considering contesting this seat if and when a by-election is called.
Finally we note the PM’s comment in his letter accepting Mr. Palmer’s resignation that the affair was particularly serious because it involved a PA staff member.
The control of grassroots organizations by the PAP is just one of the ways the PAP uses state resources to affect and influence voters.
Some of the others are state control of the media, obstacles to the growth and funding of alternative parties, the harassment of individuals through defamation suits, the control of the Elections Department by the Prime Minister’s office, and threats to withhold upgrading from Opposition wards.
In Putin’s Russia these types of actions have been referred to as tantamount to electoral fraud. In Singapore they weaken the PAP’s claim to have the people’s mandate.

“MY FRIEND got a super scandal about a politician having an affair. Got proof. You interested?”
This intriguing text message sent to The New Paper by a contact at 10.48am on Saturday was the first hint of what unfolded yesterday.
TNP immediately tried to find out more about what seemed like an explosive story.
For the next hour, there was silence.
Then a couple more messages arrived five minutes before noon from a source close to the woman linked to the scandal.
At noon, four e-mails with the header “Michael Palmer” were sent to TNP. Attached to three of them were screengrabs of SMS and e-mail exchanges allegedly between the politicianand the woman.
Michael Palmer. Speaker of Parliament since last year. Young, dashing politician. This was a big story indeed.
The messages, which seemed to have been sent to the woman’s smartphone, suggested an intimate relationship between the two, which included regular Monday meetings.
One message reads: “Hello darling... I love you loads. More than I sometimes show... Sorry. Love love.”

Now, people who have affairs must remember to delete the SMSes after they have viewed them. Don't keep them to let others to use the SMSes as evidence against them. Cecilia Sue case also have SMSes as evidence.
fucking asshole Reform party fuckwit!
by going in, he's going to split the vote and he'll lose his goddamned deposit...
why do i think some of the goddamned "opposition" is put there by the goddamned MIW to ruin any chances for any legitimate opposition by doing shit like this, dividing and polarising the people and giving the opposition a bad name like the suspected MIW moles CSJ and Gomez...
Kenneth Jeyaratnam - damn you to hell if you put your name in the by-election!!!

At a time like this, we need to hear Master sing his song: "Tell Laura I love her"

'its an honest mistake, lets move on'
Scandals are so common these days.
Times are bad.
Time to clear all the skeletons in your closet before somebody finds them.
