It is actually the SOP and template that he and his team have created in the first place.

He should stay and enjoy the fruit of his success instead of walking off.

As for some thing NEW, it is quite impossible as they are all from ex-organisation that have groomed them to listen and obey orders

So, they are just following the old SOP and template.

If the system ain't broken, why is there need to be NEW ?

The statement by Bauy Yam Keng shows that he has no political thinking or acumen whatsoever.

He is not a political person. He is not a politician. His brain is not a political brain. His thoughts are not political thoughts.

I think PAP has reduced the role of MP to a non political position and only to that of some sort of social worker in charge of running GRCs or SMCs.

This could be the reason why someone like Tin Pei Ling can be MP.

Except for the 1st and 2nd gen who do not have the luxury of 13 PS, the existing batch of pple just have to read a prepared speech in the house, during ceremony and answering the media.

They are not exposed to actual training and debate.

If there is a debate for any policy, they will be stuck if unprepared.

I dun blame them as it is what is expected of them in the SOP.

What is striking is that these new MPs consistently misjudge Singapore public opinion.

Thus their statements often seem moronic and idiotic and insensitive to us.

Singapore has been operating in an autocratic system for so long when the government doesn't give a flying fuck about public opinion that these MPs have taken things for granted.

Singapore also lacks a mechanism for measuring and testing public opinion on public issues. There are no opinion polls for example.

These PAP MPs are basically non political people, they are not real politicians, they have no political skills, they are not orators or have skilled political judgement or anything else.

If you add all these to the problem of lack of a mechanism for testing public opinion, it means that PAP MPs will continue to talk cock, continue to support policies that no one supports or like.

They will continue to lose votes.

Singapore's political landscape WILL evolve. Current status quo wont hold forever.

It is a matter of when, how much and for whom (which generation).

The future points to people who demand participation, inclusiveness, bi-partisan democracy.

It is really a question of how Singapore gets there? in peace or in chao?
