It doesn't matter what they talk, what really matters is whether MY salary got increase or not. It hurts when everybody's salary increases but mine no move.

even posting for feedbacks from the public is seen like a routine job....
thats where social media can come into play....since its advent which has done good and bad for public and government alike.....no one can stop the neutral machine so long it maintains its conscientious right to remain as politically neutral...great respect for facebook withstanding china's control...
no point even to have "independent committees" when we are not absolutely sure how independent or transparent they are....

I think long time ago when similar issue of higher salary is brought up. The government debate was : if you want your pay to increase, normal "self-employed" workers like hawker seller will also increase their food price as well etc. I guess the only practical "welfare" we can hope is that HDB price could be lower or affordable, but still "dream on".

there should be a social media public committee where all can read undisrupted feedbacks (polite ones of course) ....then poll calculator will show ...before a policy is made...
of course we have not come to the age of electronic voting through facebook....haha...it will never come ...

I am waiting for the next average increase in Singaporean income even though my salary has stagnated.

Their salary increase come from price increase and tax.
So, if your salary increase, they will gain more from it.
They will discourage your salary to be increase as it will deter foreign investors from coming here to set up company.
This will also increase their operating cost and profit margin since most of the company here is under ah kong.
So, dun be fussy and complacent so that you can continue to be in debts with your small salary and enjoy the lots of price increase.

Solution is make concerted effort to vote them out to sack Lee Hsien Loong and PAP.
