What about LKY? You want him retire completely or go to hell better?
just ask him to go away, whether hell or not, we are not like him who like to condemn people to hell, we are mortal people who do not pursue revenage, just go away
populist politics? its too umbrella a term...
the peoples' views are the commoners' perspectives...and popular, of course...
People like GCT are old guards, good only during their times, in fact, no so good too, he is outdated.

You people are all dumb fools. Criticizing the PAP over and over again. Nothing but complaints. Ungrateful brats. Never look at past results, yet keep harping at our government. Without Mr. Lee Kuan Yew and his ministers, we will not be where we are today.
We are a little red dot in the map with zero natural resources and yet we have hundreds of billions of dollars in reserves. In US, they have natural resources, yet they are trillions of dollars in debt. Because they have a coalition government, too many mouths in Parliament, so can’t come up with solution. They also change President every 4 or 8 years, ie. for one or two terms only. Change President, change policies. PAP rule since 1959, we have smooth continuity and prosperity. Our neighbor has a President with over 30 year rule, yet country still 3rd world and the citizens are no better, in deep poverty. President rich only. Would you rather ministers get high pay and is clean government or you want a corrupt government who pockets money into their own pockets and yet citizens still live in poverty.
In your life, you make mistakes? Don’t tell me you never made a single mistake in your life. So to err is human. Government cannot make mistakes? Can you guarantee if you were government, you won’t make mistakes.
Presidential Election is not GE, for goodness sake. One of the important role of the President is to attract foreign investments and not to harp on domestic issues. Want to harp on domestic affairs, go stand for election.
With foreign investors confidence, that can create jobs for us to feed ourselves and our families. Singapore is too small to fail. We will not be able to climb up again, as we have nothing to offer other than people and infrastructure.
90% of us own homes. Some countries, their citizens rent houses all their lives, no government subsidy flats. Other countries are coming to learn from us. We Singaporeans, especially young people, “seah suay”, keep blame game. Never went through deep recession.
Have a sense of gratitude.

The kind of politics you don't know how to play, little boy. Get off the swing and let others have a go. This is not a leadership until until death system.
People are paying 40 years for micro houses, and the bank will call on them when the price falls. All for nothing but Mah's incompetence.
They also change President every 4 or 8 years, ie. for one or two terms only. Change President, change policies.
WTF???
I remember you, we clashed over your fetish for Lim Hwee Hua. You also started an account on stomp under your old name. Don't think I don't know.Originally posted by Athenalee3:You people are all dumb fools. Criticizing the PAP over and over again. Nothing but complaints. Ungrateful brats. What Lim Hwee Hua are you talking about? Wrong person.
You people only know how to blame the government for every damn thing that is happening to you. Presidents in other countries are just like our PM. You don't know? That is why when they change President, policies change. That goes to show the few of you here are so uneducated. Calling people names and scolding the 4 letter word. How unrefine you people are. Citizens of other countries, some living in slums, some in very bad condition. Their complains will fall on deaf ears. I am very sure, you few people were born after independence and know nuts of how we went through tough years previously. Go work 2 jobs if you have to. Government can't please everyone, in particular disgruntle people like you.

You are so full of unhappiness in sgforums, we never invite you here. For the sake of your happiness, your idolistic website PAP web is waiting for you to patronize.
U kpkb here is futile!
Still not happy, I challenge you go report to police to arrest the forumers here.
Someone is so foolish, so brainwashed, 90 percent own homes. He does not know nobody owns HDB flats, people are just leasees.
You are the unhappy fella. No one invite you to SGforum to criticize Mr. Goh Chok Tong. You can pass comments, I can't? You think you own the forum?
I give you one solution. Go find another country better than Singapore and migrate. Go live in some paradize. You think the Opposition is better. When they won the East Coast GRC, what happen to the one who help win them the seat? The one who stood by them in 3 elections even when their members were disintegrated after the 2006 election? He was not voted as MP, instead a young IT guy got it. His first time in the election. Isn't this politics? The pioner quit the party immediately. I know you people are now just focusing on yourself. It's ok if you don't agree to what I say, when the PAP really gets voted out, then go find out for yourself. We have been in good hands all these years, why rock the boat. Even if you have to pass comments, you don't have to curse and swear at Mr. Lee Kuan Yew or any other ministers or ex-ministers. Just air your views politely. The whole word is in crisis. You think only you? Singapore, such a small country can tie over the last recession faster than other countries. What more do you expect? Free hand outs?
I am better than you, at least I can appreciate what the PAP has done in the past. You have no sense of gratitude. You can live pass 100 years old? HDB will definitely out live you. Of course the government needs to own a majority of the land in land scarce Singapore.
At least Domo talks sense and is not rude, crude and disrespectful towards those who helped shape Singapore.
Yes, I agree with you at some point, but don't play over board. A coalition government will definitely not do Singapore good. I am a Singaporean, and I certainly care for the welfare of Singapore and have also been following the news. I see a lot of countries having 2 party system, in Parliament is like fighting match. Decisions cannot be made and so policies cannot be implemented, the country cannot move forward. Other bigger countries with natural resources can survive turmoil in their countries, but certainly not Singapore. Once foreign investors lose confidence in our government and pull out their investments.... Attracting investments is not an overnight feat. To build back confidence takes a lot of time and results.
All the youngsters have been enjoying a stable, clean government. Good infrastructure and economy. They expect perfection. Nothing can be perfect. I also have travelled to places before and I know how other population are so much worse off than us. Take the case of HDB. Yes we are lessee, but our flats are so well maintained and the space is reasonable compared to Hongkong. The citizens are living in 500 sq.ft to 700 sq.ft. in private apartments and yet the prices are so sky high. Not many government flats too. So who do they complain to? How about the most powerful country? Yes, you can buy 2,500 sq.ft land and live in landed properties. Prices are very low, about $250,000. But while paying the mortgage, they also pay high property taxes. Up to $550 PER MONTH! That is $6,600 PER ANNUM FOR LIFE! Not only that. Every few years the authorities check their house, if you had done renovation works, they just increase your property tax. We pay 30 to 40 years mortgage and the property tax is negligible. Even for landed properties, our property taxes are low. How to compare? Philippines? Zero government subsidy housing. They buy a piece of land and build their own homes. No money, build the structure first (the shell). Save up enough money and do a partition for one room, Save more money, put another room. If roof leaks, no money to repair, live with it till they have money to repair the roof. They have no one to help them. You walk in the streets of some South East Asian countries and get stabbed, gunned down, dead also don't know what happened? Singapore is such a safe haven.
PAP is already listening to Singaporeans as they are now aware of their resentment. But don't be too hard on them. Why scold 4 letter word and curse and swear at Mr. Lee Kuan Yew and ministers? Some even say, vote PAP out. Can they be sure the next government can do a better job than the PAP? No one can tell. The Chinese saying "Living a good life, don't know how to appreciate the good life".
Whatever situation we are in, good or bad it all depends on oneself. Why some people are rich and some poor? It depends on how we live life and strive forward and not always expecting the government to do something for us. If we make good money, we can afford private housing. And life will be good. Why keep complaining and all the blame game?
I like the way you rationalize the situation Domo.
Cheers to you!

I know who you are, and I am here to dog you again. I hounded you out of the forum after your 129 posts.
You should answer the 2 questions:
1) You tell us to migrate. If you are not happy in this anti-PAP forum, why are you here? I can say I don't own the forum, but I have a stake in my country so you don't tell me what to do and what to say. If you didn't attack my views I wouldn't attack you back.
2) If the President is neutral, what difference does it make to you or the PAP who the president is? Lee Hsien Loong said the PAP is not the president's master, why do you care so much that Tony Tan be president?

Excellent job to expose this troublemaker!
He makes himself sound so important even PAP cannot do without him. Loads and loads of crap from this bootlicker of Tony Tan and PAP.
I loathe people who has one track mind.
You keep guessing the wrong person. So far I posted 6 (SIX) comments. Get it?
I don't care if this is anti-PAP forum or not. I comment when I want to. Moreover, this is a forum and not anti-PAP forum.
Since you people are so frustrated and angry, go find peace elsewhere where you feel the government is very fair to you. Why curse and swear. This is my solution to you. What's wrong.
You don't seem to understand politics in other countries do you? Presidents in other countries are incharge of the country, like our PM. Why do you keep mentioning our President and Tony Tan? I never mention about the Presidential Election. I also loathe ungrateful brats like you. Does that answer your question?
After what I have said and you cannot dispute me, but just give a sentence to cover up your ignorance.
Wake up kids

An ignoramus who doesn't know the president makes no policy, and serves 5 years not 4. Who knows only to criticize other countries like Singapore is the best in the world.
I hate PAP people like you who talk in high ideals and deal in half truths, and carry out even fewer. The people of this country will not have to leave for the life they want. The PAP does not determine life for them.
Perhaps you will enjoy your Hong Kong standard of living, when the PAP is done.
Whatever nick you use, you will be brought down. If you want to reclaim this forum from the lunatic fringe, you can try. We will try to reclaim this country for ourselves, and we are 40% there. What methods have you up your sleeve to cling on to power?
I say to you, lock this country down in your iron grip. Let's see what foreign investment thinks of a dictatorship. That is something you cannot lock down.
What talking you? You are so so so ignorant. There you go again comparing our President with other Presidents of the world. Pointless to say more. You just don't get it. How can a Singaporean like you be so blur to the outside world. You need to travel out of Singapore to know what I am talking about, see the world, instead of hiding in your own cocoon.
I have no intention to live in Hongkong. May be you will appreciate the small space more than me. To me Singapore is still one of the most liveable cities in the world, the best government we have in the world. I do not belong to the PAP, but I have high regards for them and cannot tolerate abusive people like you with no sense of gratitude.
Investors are here becos of you? or because of PAP? Dictatorship? Yes, so because of dictatorship in this country, we get big investors here and Singapore is flourishing. Say what you like.
Reclaim Singapore. You are one of those who have not gone through a depression in our country, so don't talk big. Singapore falls in your this kind of calibre, we die standing. Narrow minded, self-centred individual with microscopic mind.
