I see it as he is guilty conscious taking so much from the nation and just fu yan to say he is doing his work though he is quiet. May be this helps to ease his stress and conscience conscious.

Shd look at the yahoo pages comments about nathan.....they are 99.9% damning lol. And yet the state media sings praises about him as if he's a great president. I think there's a lot of hallucination and delusion in PAP still.

few issue :
1. Nathan has to step down because it is obvious PAP is backing TT.
2. Nathan might be ceremonial but that doesnt mean he cant speak for the ppl and for the ppl of singapore in key sensitive issues such as high housing prices, massive influx of foreigners, transportation.
3. he has never given a clemency. i not say saying he should consider, but i just say, in 12years, it never happen.
4.4-5 million for a ceremonial job? even george yeo find it too high to believe and reject it.
should we thank him for his service? i think we pay more than what we deserve.

The funny thing about the appeal for clemency is that the condemned has to appeal to the President for clemency.
But clemency is granted based on the advise from the cabinet.
This roundabout way had the lawyer Ravi jumping mad claiming the prataman was not doing his job. -
prata man is trained both in flipping and pushing prata dole, so when thing get abit sensitive, he just push is away, that is what he is trained for, then when it is about cutting ribbons and starting F1 race and all other glamour events, he will accept it without a blink of an eye, that is his job.
I saw his book at popular book store, omg, selling $30++, better go buy anime cartoon to read
