My guess is only 2 persons will qualify to run.
Either of the candidates who eventually wins, will pose no problem for the government.

President is elected by the people but yet should not follow or do what the people want. (ie be a populist)
TT is right that it is not the president's responsibility to suggest changes to policies but I think the president must voice out his concerns if a policy is not to Singaporeans' interests.

Why bother so much and risk impeachment by the PAP Ministers?
It's not in the interest of the President to risk his own pay and position to voice out Singaporeans concern.
