Obviously, they also feel that PAP hasn't done enough good for them for the pros to outweight the cons. To me, beautifying the town or repainting every 3 years means nothing to me. They could start by being kinder and more benevolent.

these kind of electorate are everywhere, you upgrade my flat I vote for you, so they voted for the PAP, that is probably the reason why the PAP carrot of upgrading works, wealth distribution,...works, but these electorates would be called naive, self interest come first. So it really depends on who you ultimately voted for, to decide if you are only human and natural, or you are naive, money minded, self interest come first......

For many, self interests come first....which is also a natural thing to expect. I bet 70-80% of civil servants or GLC employees voted for the PAP. Then there are those who are afraid of house values dropping or SGD depreciating, so they vote the PAP despite their complaints. Factoring in all that, 60% is not really a mandate.

Yes, they already said they will listen to us more. I agreed.But the problem is not them, it is the grassroots dogs. They wont listen to us. They only listen to their mp. They serve with purposes, they not really want to serve the people. Majority of them are like that. All those bad eggs.

Be fair. Many PAP MPs can also earn a lot in private sector but they also sacrifice like Chem SM.Look at Lim Hwee Hua - may be a blessing in disguise for her as MNCs and top banks will head-hunt her now

Next election, gov will give you two vote, one in red and another in green. Red can be casted only by your MP signing it and green can go to any party you wish to vote.
So dont offend your MP ok.
