I think sooner or later, they will build HDB at condo prices.
And SPH runs the Clementi Mall like the govt running the country.
First, they invite those they think can contribute to their bottomline to tender first.Second, for the leftovers, they ask the rest to write to SPH explaining why they should let in.
On the first look, this place looks high class. Look long enough, this place smacks of sick mismanagement and it is not even officially open yet.
Two NTUC supermarkets just a walking distance. Shops that are so incongruent with the heartlanders.SPH should do what all the private mall managements do - just let the forces demand and supply work themselves out and not interfere with this mechanism.
No experience - too bad, they should not even allow to manage mall in the first place.

well i think HDB is making a lost indeed but that is because all HDB lands has to buy from SLA or any other govt bodies at market prices. Thus you will never see HDB making a profits. But the money is is only transfer from left to right pockets.Dont let the PAP fool you.

i think we should demand MBT for explaination Now Housing is getting SKY HIGH PRICE Example 5 years ago sengkang housing was around 150k to 180k for a 4room flat 5 years later NOW from 150k to 180k jump up SKY HIGH to price of 280k to 311k INFLATION really so HIGH? Resources really so EXP? need 100k plus more for resources to build each HDB units? so now concrete and steel cost 100k more to build each hdb unit?

Seriously other than higher material cost, I dun see why public housing or newly completed units has to be so expensive today.
MBT is saying that ppl live in squatters?
Or rather, he wants to commercialise more plots as what they've done at Clementi Mall?

that is because the pricing of new HDB flats is not purely base on land cost, construction cost but also the selling price of resale flats around that area. that is probably why where the subsidies come from, probably to offset the eg.30k off the resale value of nearby flats.that is why WP propose to peg the housing price base on median income of singaporean which is strongly rejected. Because HDB would be running at a huge lost because they cant transfer money from singaporeans to other ministeries such as SLA.
MBT, HDB of course cannot debate this issue. they cant explain nor tell us the truth how they run the stats boards. they could be opening a can of worms. that hard truth can be hard to swallow and believe.

According to Mr Mah, seems that HDB pricing is related to education and defence, not affordability or is he saying that the ministers for education and defence are not helping him to lower the HDB price. And if HDB making loss, why his pay is sky-high as compared to leaders of other countries. They are supposed to be "servant" of the people according to PM Lee. Well! there is no issue on their good salary as it is good feeling for them to enjoy good life, but it is a little contradictory for highly educated and leaders that commanded great respect and love from its people and many parts of the world.
