Please ponder for the reason that why is TPL appointed as a PAP candidate.
PAP fields TPL intending to get the votes from the first time voters with her youthful look and hope that TPL has star appeal.
Obviously, TPL fails to have star appeal and TPL will not bring in the intended votes for the PAP but votes for the opposition parties.
(My suggestion of Sharon Au might not be ideal and I agree that there can be other candidates that have more star appeal and outstanding academic achievement that could bring in the intended votes for the PAP).
Please ponder again why are Ong Ye Kung and Janil Puthucheary appointed as PAP candidates.
PAP field them and hope to turn the anti PAP hardcore voters into PAP votes as both of them are children of Barisan Soscialis MPs but yet they are now PAP candidates.
However, we have to see whether they will be able to bring in the intended votes for the PAP in the coming election or votes for the opposition parties.

PAP field young candidates because they feel they had lost touch with the grounds and trying to woo the new voters. they could be trying to get a idea whereby WP fielded a super young team to AMK and garner 30% of the votes. maybe this time they try to get some of this votes too.
i dont think ppl vote for the looks of the MP candidates. afterall this is election now a singapore idol, miss singaporean, miss chinatown, mr manhunt contest.
ideally you should vote base on your own political idealogy, calibre to serve, disillusion with current policies. if all else fail, vote for the body. cause face wise, all cant make it.

Sharon Au studied International Relations, which is part of politics, and i think she got masters hons. in my opinion, i feel that she got lots of charisma, whenever she is the host, i would feel like to continue watching the show, regardless of the content. her smile is sincere too.

Forget her kate spade and I don't know what to say speech.Focus on the ''I have no strong opinion on any PAP policy" answer plus the " Medical costs are subsidized and low" answer.
Obviously, she has not been in touch with the poor people who cannot afford pay for the full cost of their medications at the hospital pharmacy, let alone a hospital stay. Medisave can be just wiped out in a major illness. The poor cannot afford to be sick.
What does she define as low cost? Her understanding of low costs differs from the understanding of low costs from those who are very disadvantaged.
A low cost meal to a rich man is still too expensive for a poor man.

Initially tpl is not from sm goh team. lhl gave it to sm goh. Just like tanjong pagar, the new mp dont need to contest, automatically become a mp. Actually should put tpl at tanjong pagar. -

NSP has found young candidate ie Nicole Seah with maturity and star appeal. So much so that she has become the spokeperson of the NSP Marine Parade GRC team. PAP fielded young candidate ie Tin Pei Ling but with immaturity and TPL fails to have star appeal. Has PAP made a wrong choice in fielding TPL ? Are there other better young PAP candidates (21 - 29 years old) that PAP could have fielded ?
