This guy TAN JEE SAY was educated at Oxford
Served as SM Goh's PPS and joined a leading MNC after leaving administrative service. Now joining WP and possibly gonna be fielded in Joo Chiat to fight Chan Soo Sen and Andrew Kuan (independent)
Seems like more and more "STAR" candidates are joining the opposition!!
Opposition has introduced:
1) Chen Show Mao (Rhodes Scholar and law firm Partner, from Harvard/Stanford/Oxford)
2) Benjamin Pwee (ex-admin service officer, from Cambridge)
3) Jimmy Lee (DSTA scholar, from ???)
4) Kenneth Jeyaretnam (hedge fund manager, from Cambridge)
5) Vincent Wijeysingha (PhD holder, from ???)
6) Tony Tan (ex-SAF scholar)
7) Hazel Poa (ex-admin service)
8) Tan Jee Say (ex-admin service)
Whereas PAP has given us
1) Tin Pei Ling
2) Janil Puthucheary
3) Foo Mee Har
4) Ong Ah Heng's son and Choo Wee Khiang's nephew
5) SAF generals
6) 7-8 candidates from NTUC
HOW COME THIS YEAR OPPO CANDIDATES LOOK BETTER THAN PAP?? -

Why do you refer to Chen Show Mao as "Dr" Chen?
He is not a medical doctor nor is he a holder of a PhD.
To my knowledge, the only opposition candidates who qualified to have title "Dr" in front of their names is Dr Vincent Wijeysingha and Dr Chee Soon Juan.
PAP side got more Drs, such as Dr Vivian Balakrishnan. There are some with even higher titles, such as Assoc Prof Yaacob Ibrahim.

Chen Show Mao has a JD from Stanford Law School ie a doctoral degree in law from Stanford University.
So, he can be addressed as Dr Chen.

Hmm, that is very strange. In that case, why don't he refer to himself as Dr Chen? Why don't the Straits Times or TOC / Satay Club / Temasek Review etc refer to him as Dr Chen?
Whereas Dr Vincent Wijeysingha, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Dr Chee Soon Juan are all referred to using their full academic title?
Anyone care to explain?
Also, is JD the same level as PhD?

No matter how strong opposition party candiates are, they will still lost because the opposition brand lose to PAP brand..

HOW COME THIS YEAR OPPO CANDIDATES LOOK BETTER THAN PAP??taking away admin officer positions for oppositions this would only lead to around 2 acceptable ones.the rest are just not cut out for making important decisions resulting in victory.
for pap, taking all the barnacles around candidates ones left are only the SAF generals.and even the generals have not seen much action or real wars to have that title even.
