I think the requirement that the generals and police chief have to resign, and get elected is a necessary, and a good safeguard. Besides, it is the choice of the person to decide if he would join the PAP or the opposition.

when such thing happens, if we are called up and ordered to control the crowd, it is indeed painful for all fellow singaporeans and our families since the crowd are fellow citizens (friends & relatives), very emotional times, will probably defy orders
maybe since we have hindsight now who will leave, hope we can stand united & demand first from the command that all exit points to be blocked, confiscate all possessions of those leaving and if we have the time, blow up all erp gantries

Gurkha are just mercenaries. they get paid and do a job. they had no association with singapore whatsoever.gaddafi is also using mercenaries from africa to attack its own ppl when most of its army defected to the rebel camp.

today we had already seen fail govt policies. it is only that CNA and out media dare not question the govt. but instead praising them of their past achievement. sound familiar to north korea and china. have CNA ever mention singapore rank the lowest in media freedom but instead choosing to publicise wat kind of lame award they achieve in entertainment. A media should play impt role in shaping the mindset of singaporeans. the mainstream media focus beauty show, talent show to brainwash the youngster no wonder lotsa ppl fear for the future of singaporeans. -

That is why the Elites prefer to have Gurkha defending them instead of the regular army, in case of a "Freak Election" they can call in the Gurkha without fear. But do u think they dare to arm the army with live rounds and ask the army to turn against other Lesser Mortals which might be the family members. -

I live in PRC for the past 7 years, my family all remain in SG, I went through the time we almost at war for water with Malaysia and the riot in Indonesia where we are closer to defending Singapore. I was than ready to defend for the country at that time, but today, I no longer has that strong feeling not because I am away for a long time from Singapore but I felt that the country I have love is becoming more and more alien to me. To be honest, I see more of my friends and relatives are living overseas than in sg. Even the estate in Melivlle Park I live are now filled by Indian national and make me so frustrated that I sold it in April.

i share your frustration about estate fill with aliens.you had 2 choice. migrate or stay and fight for your rights and make a difference how you want to remake singapore. If you choose the former, no reason for your to fight. But if you choose the latter, fight till the end a make a difference.

when you migrate, chances are that you will still see the same types of aliens there, and one important thing to note, you yourself have become an alien to the locals.
Many aliens live here for 5 years and they have become singaporean, but you have Singaporean living in PRC for 7 years, where do they call home, PRC or Singapore?

Dun u know that many Aux police are make up by FT (PR). Plus, police is just using revolver (shorter firing range/around 5-6 rounds only) compare to the firearm issue to Gurkha unit. -

i know thru 10 years ago cisco police are employing malaysian liao. they are just fast expanding it , in the past 2-3 years.
