MALAYSIA'S "dangerous" decline is fuelled by incompetent politicians, Thailand is dogged by corruption and a "very erratic" crown prince, Japan is a "big fat loser" and India is ''stupid''.
So say some of Singapore's highest ranking officials, according to leaked US State Department cables which are likely to spark intense political controversy in the region.
The cables, leaked exclusively to The Sun-Herald by WikiLeaks, detail separate meetings between senior US officials and Singapore's Foreign Affairs chiefs Peter Ho, Bilahari Kausikan and Tommy Koh.
The trio, who at the time of the 2008 and 2009 cables occupied some of the most senior positions in the foreign ministry, all give US officials damning assessments of Malaysia.
According to one cable detailing a meeting in September 2008, Mr Kausikan told US Deputy Secretary of Defence for East Asia David Sedney there was a "distinct possibility of racial conflict" which could see ethnic Chinese "flee" Malaysia and "overwhelm" Singapore.

the issue that can cause war is, reclamation of land near JB, intrusion of air and sea space, both claim for some unknown islands, dispute over existing issues like water, railway etc etc

I don't know whether if SAF will mobilize Malaysian PRs for the invasion, if yes then will they blast a hole in their retirement homes to kill insurgents? SAF right now is a laughing joke.

Serving British interests

"In those days, anti-colonialism was a very powerful and popular sentiment even in Singapore … I helped found the People's Action Party (PAP) to fight for the freedom of Singapore from British rule and to reunite it with Peninsula to form an united, non-communal and progressive Malaya but when Lee turned right wing and started serving British interests, the party split and I left to join the Socialist Front," he explained.
"We certainly opposed to Singapore being maintained as a military base for Britain and that was why Lee had to crush the Left in Singapore at all cost … The Left in Singapore also opposed to the 1963 merger because we thought it was an opportunistic adventure on the part of Lee who wanted to exploit Tunku Abdul Rahman's anti-communism to suppress the Left in Singapore … we wanted merger but not in the 1963 version which proved to be an utter failure just two years later in 1965.

We are dead if there is war. Singapore has about 70000 full time soldiers, and about 350000 reservists. Reservists are useless, and cannot even be called soldiers. Do you remember the scene from the movie 300, when Leonidas was offered more forces from the other greek general and Leonidas declined because he "brought more soldiers"? That is similar to sending reservists to war, despite whatever equipment they have, it is a suicide mission. 'Sculptors' and 'blacksmiths' do not make soldiers.

Singapore is tough to conquer. We have the most sophisticated military systems and weapons....If any country invade us, USA will whack them back senseless....just like the Vietnam war and Desert Storm.
