well bro,
i mean election is the time where minister will try their best to address your concern.
look what happen in the last 3 mths. HDB come out with 3 measure to curb property prices. Mr mah say property prices are still affordable but why still curb it when he say still affordable. we all can see, he has lost touch with the grounds on how to define affordability.
vote wisely. as far as we know, the next curb will come 5 years later.
HDB flats are still expensive....with or without govt measures....more should be done to lower the prices....

After elections, they will be opening the floodgates again.
They need people to prop up the high prices.
I wonder whether it is better for the government to take a back seat and allow private developers and the free market to tender for land and build homes for Singaporeans? I wonder whether homes will be any cheaper, demand and expectations will be better met, and management and maintenance more effecient? Will our mass market homes becomes slums like in many other countries? Will our poor be any better off in terms of housing? The truth is that the cost of land in Singapore is priceless and Singaporeans are already getting them for a song and is the reason why they are lining their pockets every few years from price appreciations. The value stays with Singaporeans and the country.
With inflation likely in the next few months, public housing will likely be more expensive soon.

Wah, better wait and see....I still think prices will fall at least 20%....

Hahaha! Better than buying now at exorbitant prices....good things comes to those who wait...
HDB prices will not fall too much, especially in the suburban areas.
The recent property measures are aimed at property flippers. Those who flipped for a quick gain will kenna. Gone were the days. I had this uncle who flipped properties and made a killing of millions when times were good.
However, HDB has it's own mechanisms that only allow people to sell after the MOP of 5 years. As such, HDB buyers are not there for flipping, but for a longer period of time.

There's still room for lower HDB prices....another 20% less and I'll buy already!

Suits you. If and when it happens, my MOP will very likely be finished and I will move into private property investments.
I'm not going to let such things derail or delay my plans.
Good luck.

Pte Property investments are not easy leh...you too be careful. Good luck!

Easy or not, depends on the percentage of your assets.
If it is too big a percentage of your holdings, naturally you will find it tough.
The solution is to grow bigger than your problem, such that a big problem to others will be a small problem to you. This is my concept of financial relativity.

Now cannot invest in HDB flats anymore, so more people will enter the Pte Pty market?

I give up...

Hahaha! I really dun understand....
Shortie Marlboro Tan wanted to please the foreigners, wanted HDB flats to earn money for government, wanted to stop locals from earning retirement money from flats, wanted people to just buy any triangular HDB pigstyt, wanted people to loan huge loans from banks, wanted to built slowly very little flats, all is wants by the government.
Who actually is the government acting in the interest of?
It is for themselves only, in trying to do so many things, it ended up being a confused little shortie stunt man which will end up being killed while attempting to do many stunts that his shortiness cannot reach.
Dun worry, shorty has a tall wife, she can do it for you
Most of the time, instead of growing bigger than your problem, your problem grows bigger than you.
