Really.
wah. How come my parents buy a 4 room hdb flat in 1982 and it cost 50k!!!!

The future generation will face this problem.
Salary unable to buy a hdb flats, Should be able to buy but longer longer housing loans.
last generation say, this generation will have problems, this generation say next generation will have problems, dun worry lah, every generations also have problems one lah, let it them settle it during their own time. Each have their own good and bad, problems is where life exist ya

No matter how the property mkt falls, it will NEVER return to those 1980's levels....

sure, but who enticed them to be slave, the govt mah, they created the culture of kiasee, kiasu,...so called scare die and scare loose face. They nurture singaporeans to show off even with no money in pocket, so Singaporeans, as alway, good students, listened to them and buy here and there at high prices, govt provide loan here and there to entice them. So end up...
on one hand, they said stop gambling, on the other hand, they open casinos...contradicting ya, on one hand they increase COE so high so that you cannot afford to buy, on the other hand, they allow so much advertisment on car and accessories...

I will never understand politicians....I'm sure they have their ways of doing things, but I just dun understand....why the HDB so expensive still they say affordable?
what do you expect them to say, HDB not affordable to Singaporean anymore? they make their own statistics studies, maybe after getting a mean average salary of an average singaporean thru the datas from CPF and IRA, take the total Singaporeans salary divided by the nos of working peoples and you get an average, and that average indicate that he or she can afford a 3 room new flats, so their minister start to blar blar that HDB is affordable. Anything wrong?
But those below the average will be suffering

Repaying a 30y housing loan is certainly NOT considered affordable man! By the time the loan fully paid up, the total costs (plus interests) would be almost doubled the initial cost!

if cost of living come down that means our salary drop?
but our salary now already drop because of the foreigners but cost of living still never drop..
The property prices went up 10x since 1980's, but the median salary just went up S$1K.....
The ministers salary went up many times since 1980s

To the rich , of cos HDBs are affordable. With majority of rich people owning pte properties, its unlikely the prices will fall.....they also wanna make $ mah....alot of those who bought pte properties in the early 80's, now all becomes millionaires!
not only they millionaires, singapore got a lot of asset rich millionaires, me included, what is a million today, can't even buy a house...you got to be realistic, money is getting smaller in comparing with the cost of living ya.

you sell, also need to buy mah, unless you want to get out of this country for good, or act poor and live in beaches...let say you sell 1 million and buy another for 1.2 millions, you get into loan and start to slave again lor
