It's not like the movie "Minority Report" by Tom Cruise....there's no "Pre-Crime" department to stop people from commiting crimes before they happen.

if I am not wrong, since the founding years of this island, gangsters already exists. With the article 55, alot of suppressing were done in the 80/90s but that generations have passed. Now we have a new generation where they are not introduced to 55 and has not been forcibly enforced, hence, all these funny incidents.
by end of this run, I do believe the SSB will reinforce their "fist" and we should see calm at least for a while.

agree with you. but if we have more manpower, and they are around, maybe, they are able to detect the start of certain events or get news and hence be a bit "proactive". we are not talking about forecasting.

Also as a "by the law" Nation like Singapore, we can't send somebody to jail before they break the law, man....that's why nowadays police seems to appear "AFTER" the crime.

deathmaster seems to be living in a black and white world. He/she thinks that to eliminate any kind of crimes the country just needs to impose death sentence for the crime. Didn't we have death sentence for drug trafficking for years but until now drug trafficking is not totally eliminated?

Gangs can't survive long in the modern Singapore. Everything so expensive....people have no time to join gangs, too busy working hard to repay loans for their houses and cars....

what i am trying to imply here is that our govt or police forces should be pro active in addressing crime, not post active...we got nice airconed poshy police HQ everywhere built for top brass scholars holding top crminalogy cert at some distance University but sit down there waiting for durian (crime) to drop in....so much for research units -

Gangsterism ought to be informed that they may have children or if not, their accomplice / friends may have children and the children may have future children as well. And their children of the future may be the victim of gangsterism
so, they ought to be in the long term peace goal of "real gangsterism" -
