Nowadays it is a fact that the contents of News Discussion Lounge forum is more interesting than Speaker's Corner.
Is this the changing of an era or is it inevitable that I can see the end of Speaker's Corner?
Agree or Disagree?

You give yourself too much credit man. Calm down... lol
I think it probably due to location.
And it is way out of town.
The speaker corner should be somewhere where pple can easily access via mrt or lots of buses.

The real speaker corner should be in the Istana, so that everyone can go and kpkb to the President until he buay tahan and treat us to roti prata with teh tarik to calm us down.
Then we will naturally feel good after a delicious meal and we will shake his hands, embraced him like a brother and give him a thumb up while flashing our toothy smile as we walk out of the Istana into the sunset.
And in our hearts, we will be thinking "You're the man, Mr. President....you're the man".
Speaker corner should be very centralised area where human traffic is heavy.
Unlike the hong lim green, not even a soul.....empty and hot.
In a forum where Bus/MRT/Taxi are one of the focal points of discussions, I am not surprised, maybe need more anti-PAPers to bump the forum. Plus, the political things regurgitated is only worth reading the first thousand times.

precisely that's the point.........PAP would have put Speaker's Corner at Kranji Reservoir.......or Kusu Island...
they don't want people to hear anti-PAP speeches..........that's why the Corner not in good location...........

Hong Lim Garden is easily accessible by buses and MRT (NEL Chinatown or Clarke Quay). It is in the vicinity of Chinatown, Upper Cross Street, Clarke Quay, North Bridge Road and Raffles Place, located in town area. I don't understand why the fuss about its location.
aiyah............you know S'poreans what................must be at City Hall then they think is okay.............
anyway S'poreans no interest in politics..............they more into iphone and other nonsense.........
S'poreans live like mice...........will die like mice too...........
Anyway the topic starter is not referring to the physical Speakers' Corner if you read carefully. She was comparing Sgforums Speakers' Corner forum with The News Discussion Lounge forum.

If it ends, so be it, everything has a start and an ending. Such is the zen of life. An invisible circle has been drawn.

Actually it's not an easy job at all. He need to bow down and be humble to all the visitors from Foreign countries and entertain them whether he likes them or not.
And when was the last time you heard about Singapore President going on annual leave, or even flying overseas to visit some exotic countries for goodwill and build relationships?
It's just an expensive imprisonment if you had looked closely.
At least the a normal prata man can go and shop in Mustafa when he closes shop for the day, enjoy a good dahl with basmatic rice.

Ya,they like praises, even if the praises are not sincere at all....all due to their stupid ego.
This shown that I had done my job well, if not, this corner would had become an opposition bunker

Sure if you discount the raju ferry incident where he offered to be held at gunpoint.

You have a point.
I guess pple just compare his salary and job scope with the salary and job scope of presidents around the world.
