All I see is a bunch of old farts...
...Whiling time away... to collect their next big fat pay checks.
Old and unwilling to serve the true purpose...hoarding responsibilities.....struggling, yet cannot justify their existence....
yo sista,
Their existence is becos of the people of singapore present, typically, peoples of Singapore grumbles alot about their govt, but they fail to look at their own action that make way for their govt existence. One thing that PAP govt instill into Singaporeans that really work to their advantage is Kiasu and Kiasee mentality.
They just announced : Most youths will defend Singapore 95% said in Survey
My question: Take this 74,000 sample, compare the subsegments between 2nd year JC and highschool+primaryschool and see if JC has a lower score. I have been in the number crunching business long enough to know how data can be used to serve an agenda.
Also, consider the context which these kids live in. They are not exposed to the socio-economic environment compared to young adults. Given how parents in Spore cuddle their kids, these survey samples are living in another world.
Here's my challenge to those who came up with the numbers, administer the same questions to young adults and compare the scores. This will reveal the truth of the sentiment on the ground. I may be wrong but it doesnt matter because the truth will set us free.
At some point in our nation building we have to make trade offs - it is a sign of social maturity and political confidence. Every key component in our social-economic-political fabric is connected. You just cannot have your cake and eat it too.
NEH & MINDEF can continue to play dominate role in NE.

don;t worry. i just learn one good military tatctis call '10x1'.
in this formation in any kindda combat situation sitck to it and together as one sure can bring down the nenemy.
steps in executing this '10x1' formation.
(1) assemble in a crowded area (e.g downtoan east)
(2) each must bring one chopper each and laughter.
(3) hack your enemylike uncle in wet farket sellingmmeat
(4) then when enemy down run like hell home or hide in friends house but never cross the border.
(5) waiting for police to spend on taxperyaer money to invetsiaget and catch you
(6) teh after hang yur laoahpehs and ah bus will go collect your body.
(7) marler and farthers will then decide if bury or burn
The youngers have yet to come out to the real world to work. By then, they will realise the truths echoed by Mr. Lim Zi Rui. Like the latter, I no longer have a sense of belonging to Singapore.
I hope that many of us here do not "chicken out" during the upcoming elections because we're truly at a tipping point. If things are to continue unabated as it is, we as local Singaporeans will be well and truly marginalised.
Another important factor is that the opposition should be "united" or at least address the key issues of rising cost of living such as housing, sub-standard FTs. If they address the two issues correctly, with "substance", their winning percentage will surely increase.
That said, I still expect a PAP victory because many Singapores are simply fearful of reprisals so all we can hope is that the opposition win more seats.
i will also depend spore from oz........just send me my unoiform, weapons etc.just cuz im overseas dun mean i wont fight.....still the same thing.
however i fight for a reason.
whatever reason, just tell me where u keep that refunded $2.5k from oz govt.
lemme see....i ate a kfc with it today...bought a 1watt handheld high tech torchlight.......bought some cloth on cheapsale.....mainly shop on ebay.
what to do, ah Goh started the fire, now they need to cool the ground...they will use all kind of tactic to cool it, just ask one NS guy, pay him a few thousands more and ask him to stay a few more month.
Next, they will hold a top K-pop, J-pop, W-pop and S-pop concert to gather all the youth for free, maybe even invite me. Then they will give free drinks, goodies and create all fun for us, and in the mid of all these fun, they will ask us, as singaporean, do you feel a sense of belonging, sure all will said yes lah, all baboh and high liao...hip hop the whole nite away..and end up with the song..where we belong

Well, they havent shown the other 100,000 who want immediate out.
I wanna see their statistics... what do they mean by "Youths"?
Who did they interview or poll? Secondary school students? Tertiary students? How many of them?

Maybe job market no good lei?
if 95% of youths said they will defend singapore....then me and my singaporean colleagues here must be the minority 5%. Shucks now the hundreds and thousands of us are actually minority. How come we've never met the 95% of them? :)
In any case, all the statistics say is that "national education" has been highly successful.
i wonder if PM Lee stare at them, they dare to hack him or not. The youth, darren ng looks harmless, maybe he had some eye contact which lingered a second too long. You know some people, they look at you as if they're trying to see if they know you......and then misconstrued as staring.....such misunderstandings can occur.
I'm waiting for those 3 gangsters to cry and pee in their pants when they are found guilty of murder, and have to face the gallows.

As expected, they have to cook up some crap to pacify their master that the world is still ok and they are still the kings.
This is how self-deceiving and self-denial these bunchs of croonies are.
If they choose to listen to the "good" stuff only, then they are in for great disaster.
The true ground situation are hitting the people hard and it will not be improved by a few pathetic reports that are telling total lie.
They are worse than a university student who stand up as a upright singaporean to speak the truth.
They chose the cowardly approach in hiding in their ivory tower and their deceiving ways.
What do you expect them to do, quarrel among each other and become a laughing stock to the public like what the oppositions did...there is one thing that opposition parties need to learn from PAP, and that is Unity and support for each other no matter who make mistakes.

I won't say this survey is misleading.
Remember when you were 16 - 20 years old, the things you worried most were your exams and being cool in school.
Who the fark gives any thought to "Will you defend your country?"
If given a survey of that nature, you would probably copy the same answers to whatever your friends were writing in 1 minute just to hand it up so that you wouldn't miss your snooker session at Marina South.
