How to sustain the Civil Services Enormous Running Bills

old man's salary is many many civil servant's salary liao. He is frail but still well. And he intends to use more taxpayer's money to travel. How will he be remembered in his later years? One who never says die and works till the very end? What an example to follow huh.

Merging causes retrenchement and redundancy, you should understand that better than me, if two ministry merge, one minster, one perm sec and many more top position will have to give way, how on earth are you going to ask a minister to give up his porfolio/job that is worth millions in pay with the best perks and benefits.
i do not question yr pt that minsters are not saint and mostly self beneficiaries.
i am only pointing to the thread topic of how to sustain civil services enormous budget.
since we are creating so much work which they claim are meant for the local. i am sure the civil servant can do them too. unless the job created are too low level for even civil servant.

Travelling for holidays and working are 2 different things.
