Let's just hope they are not down for good, and hopefully it's really down due to technical issues, not shut down by authorities which is too high handed in my opinion.
Posting "noise" is by no means a reason for it to be "shut down".
Netizens have the right and the intellect to judge its objectivity or not.

Agree with you. Hopefully it will be up and running tml... =)
Hope they didn't fall victim to sabotage by PAP or PAP supporters.
I heard the state media launched a smear attack against owner of Temasek Review.
SDP: Stop harrassment of Temasek Review
The report in The New Paper (TNP) about the Temasek Review and Dr Joseph Ong Chor Teck is an attempt to curtail the growing influence of the popular website and to curb growing dissent on the Internet.
Temasek Revew, or TR, has been gaining traction among netizens who find the website a channel for them to bring up issues and discussions that would otherwise not see print or broadcast in the state controlled media. The portal has in the recent past become a centre for breaking news in the socio-political sphere to the extent that the mass media has been forced to cover sensitive stories.
It also carries analyses and opinion pieces of writers who remain largely anonymous. This anonymity allows a wide range of articles to be published which are crtitical of the ruling regime, often focusing on matters that are embarrassing for members of the PAP and the cabinet.
The Goverment is beginning to feel the heat of the growing discontent of Singaporeans who are turning to the Internet for news and bypassing the traditional media. The coming general elections will see more Singapreans turn to cyberspace for the "other side" of the story.
The newspaper also revealed that Dr Ong has been questioned by the police for posting up unflattering flyers of PAP MP Lee Bee Wah who had attracted much scorn from the Internet community for her involvement and remarks over the Singapore Table-Tennis Association saga a few months ago. TR says that Dr Ong is not part of its editorial team.
The Internet is the latest and boldest frontier which Singaporeans are using to resist the authoritarian control of the PAP. The ruling clique is trying to contain the growing influence of e-samizdat. The police questioning of Dr Ong and the information leak is a disturbing development.
Given the nature of the beast the PAP will not succeed in stopping discussion of issues on the Internet.
The hydra-like qualities of the technology, coupled with the increasing frustration of Singaporeans in wanting to see a transaparent and accountable government, will see more pro-democracy portals set up. For every TR that closes down, ten more will emerge.
In this day and age where free speech is crucial to progress, suppression of free and open debate in cyberspace must be resisted.
The Singapore Democrats call on the authorities to leave Dr Ong and TR alone regardless of whether they are related.

TR is now up and running.
Corrupt Database Caused Prolonged Site Downtime

Posting the message here in case it gets shut down again.
Corrupt Database Caused Prolonged Site Downtime
Temasek Review went offline from Monday 2200 hours to Tuesday 2200 hours due to a corrupted database caused by a failed upgrading of our wordpress.
We had originally scheduled an upgrading of our wordpress on Monday 2200 hours and it was expected to be completed within an hour.
However, the upgrading did not went well due to the incompatibility of our present customised theme and certain plugins. The failed upgrading created a serious security breach on our site, allowing any registered users full access to our administrative backend. Our tech had to shut the site down immediately. We later learnt that the failed update had corrupted the database. Since our servers are sync in real time, our mirror server suffered the same fate.
As it was already midnight, we were unable to grab hold of the programmer who customised the theme for our site to work with support personnel from our service provider to restore the corrupted database (a corrupted database).
Our service provider originally suggested restoring the site from the previous day’s database but we decided against it as hundreds of posts would have been lost. We decided to salvage the corrupted database and try to restore it as fully as possible and this was achieved today with our programmer and service provider working in tandem.
Fortunately for us, the large chunk of data corrupted were subscriber’s information and previous site archives from 2008. Other than that, all data remains intact.
If you are a registered subscriber to our site and you find that you are no longer able to login with your existing username, try executing a password retrieval and if it fails, then please re-register yourself. Contributors, Authors and Editor’s data are all intact.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our host RTG (Asia) Network and our programmer for their professional service, for restoring our database and modifying the theme to suit the latest wordpress version.
Additionally we would also like to apologise to our readers for this unexpected downtime and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hi, I am up. Guess they are argueing with each other to decide what to write and what not to write, kind of like reviewing, it may turn ugly tho. I think its time they do something to TR, with the current bunch of writers, it is begining to sound like a joke for the day site.

I seldom go there...all long articles, hard to digest.
Make it short and sharp and straight to the point.
And not write big words, hard to understand.
Just like Angel, easy to understand.

I guess they're all hiding in one corner, trying to think of more conspiracy theories regarding the corrupt database.
So, if there's anything we've learnt from all this, it is that TOC is really not all that different from TR.
Bottom line: one should always check the veracity of one's sources before reporting anything. Which is a quality both TR and TOC are sorely lacking in.

in other words, it was like a lot of their articles... lots of noise, no substance...
it is these types of noise that do the opposition a grave disservice

Or maybe there was a big fight for all over some disagreement, and in the midst of the fight, smashed the serves and other IT hardwares, like PKMS.
Those that cannot access directly can try accessing via those old links posted in sgforums or other forums.
It works for me.
