+ i am not sure about retirees working shorter hours. I've met some who cant even make ends meet while working 2 jobs

Yeah, the govt should further look and fine tune this matter.Yes, older workers are working to pay off debts....that is a very sad story and very sad to have this situation happening in spore.

Aiya, Genie in a bottle, different people have different vision of cheaper, better and faster mah, you should know my kind of trade, faster faster can collect money faster and rest mah but let say if you are in manufacturing, Cheaper mean productivity using the best sourcing ingredients and yet reasonable price, better meaning producing better quality out of it and faster meaning faster in producing, logistics etc etc that can out beat other competitors.

because about 16% IS NOT YOURS, it is from your employers, they set up a system to collect on yr behalf, so now, they slowly give back to you, not that they dun want to give you ya.
