The situation and environment of the general public reflects upon the government.
There are so many problems that we face today whose roots are common sense.
Most of these problems are being "solved" by cutting the branches of a tree one by one.
Whats the point of putting in useless efforts to things which nature is already known.
Injecting money into campaigns that are bound to fail. Isn't that a waste of our taxes?

By uprooting the trees, you need to remove the whole govt out of it, and plant a new seed on it, this need the whole citizens of Singapore to do it, you think all think like you?? We are indeed lucky that our govt create campaigns to stablise our country and improve on it, if you look around other countries around our region, where got help to build up a campaign by pouring money into it, all goes into their left and right pocket, if too much, they still got the lower left and right pockets. Now you understand why these countries politicians like to wear 4 pocketed shirts, batiks or whatever brand
On a serious note, I think that many people are now concerned that the country is heading into the wrong direction for the future. That is why there is so much noise from the ground in the past few years.
True, Singapore is a miracle story created by the first generation of ministers who wanted what was best for the country.
Fast forward to present times, people are now more educated and exposed to happenings in the country and around the world. They can see what is happening or what is not happening that should be happening.
If the present social and economic issues are not resolved correctly and swiftly, the future looks extremely bleak.

We should stop complaining and focus on "Net Happiness".
Something from Mr Brown.

Indeed, the current government policies are not as foresighted and effective as before.
Is it due to the retirement of the permanent secretaries in the various ministries or the inability of the civil service to recruit and retain as capable and talented staff as before ?

Like our gaymen don't do that?
Our politicians do that even so more openly.
They dunnit to put money into their pockets. They can just increase their salary with reasons of talent. I believe what we need are politicians with common sense...not talent.

I think in some cases, the high salaries paid to some of them have made them very complacent and slack.
Furthermore, the people at the top seem to be perpetuating a culture that even if you cock up big time, you don't have to be accountable because nobody can touch you if you are high up the chain. Just say "It's an honest mistake, let's move on" or something to that effect.
I shudder to think what would happen if this "non accountability" culture starts filtering and manifesting itself down the into the lower ranks of the ministries and the civil service.
An example of what I mentioned above.
Seems like nobody bothered to check whether the signatures for the certificates were correct.
Slowly but surely, it is filtering down, down, down.

Upon seeing this,i started to recall that LKY,LHL n boot-licker GCT never apologize if the PAP government do make mistake, they just hide inside their "Wolf Lair"(sound familiar?) n wait for the whole thing to subside.
Now,as in modern days, ppl say it takes courage to admit ones mistake or apologise.I started to wonder are these ppl simply a bunch of cowards, thats why they dont apologize even if they do make mistakes?Or are they still living in their "good old days" n cannot catch up with times?

Talking about our politician, before becoming a politician, actually they got lots of common sense, but once they are in and stayed long, all these sensed combined into only one talent, the money making talent.

mistake is a mistake, honest is a propaganda word
