I think even if they want to cease the bus operations, they should give the two IRs and the bus companies sometime to adjust, say 1 month in advance, or at least until Sunday.
And at least, RWS has already voluntarily agreed to withdraw the services by Sunday, they should let them go ahead with the proposed dateline, and not on Friday afternoon itself.
They have actually caused frustrations amongst visitors who have utilised the free shuttle to go Universal Studios... but ended up getting stucked at RWS after the bus services were ceased with immediate effect.
since when govt policy changes take time to execute one?
it's fast and furious.

LTA never coordinate with the relevant casino authorities when they allowed the bus services?
Why like that?

I guess as w/ recent events, e PAP overreacted on things that they actually approved.
I think it's just an election gimmick.
Once elections are over, they will probably allow the bus services to continue citing some survey they did themselves to show not many people use the bus services to go gamble in the casino.
The bus operators should just hang on after the elections.
It's like the issue of restricting PRs now during election year to please the electorate.
Once elections are over, the floodgates will be re-opened to every Tom, Dick and Harry again.
I think the gahmen thinks a lot of people would be happy that the IR bus services are removed, but it backfired, cos people just want things free at the end of the day.

They can do it.... 10 million is possible too! Provided this....
Let Singaporeans choose Shift A or Shift B...
Shift A works and goes out only from 12am - 12pm.
Shift B works and goes out only from 12pm - 12am.... =)
Shift A population who wants to go out at Shift B's timing would have to pay $50 COE to be able to go out during Shift B timing, likewise in Shift B's case.

Just build more MRT depots...
As for maintenance, probably they close the MRT tracks at certain times of the day...
For example, 2pm - 4pm... and 2am - 4am... LOL... Problem solved. =)

If they can have space for another 2.5 million more people, why cannot have space for more MRT depots?
Just like this casino gambling issue, somebody pointed out in another forum, since they can have 4D and toto shops in the heartlands, why cannot have buses ferrying heartlanders to casino then?
This smacks of total hypocrisy on their part.
Singapore Pools collect small bets... everyday bet $100 ... so wun die.... worst to worst you go hawker centre sell tissue paper nia....

You are right - land space is limited.
Then why the hell want to increase the population by another 50% to 7.5 million ?

This is the main reason for stopping free shuttle services.Ok,enough said:)

What a rash decision by CRA.
Obviously they did'nt take into account the implications of their decisions.
Its sad for those bus drivers and people who sincerely want to visit the IR.
Why did they let this foolish idea get through man.
It isn't an urgent problem and they should have spent more time thinking about it.
Just plain dumb.
