He got a few books to sell that had translated into so many languages, his memoir is going to be international best seller, and he got a Lee and Lee's law firm to earn big for him where all top business engaged his firm, and since he is british trained and started in the era of pension, he still is eligible to take his pension base on his last draw salary, which is about 3m. Charlie Chaplin did not take all these into consideration when quoting MM Lee paid. -

My goodness, whenever i quote something, there is alway salt and pepper added, hahaha...I am not going against that old uncle in anything he did in the public, if he wants to flaunt his money, that is up to him, what I am implying is that at the end of the day, he dun come in and said that he is poor and govt did not help him or whatever this society is unfair to him and all those nonsense. If you are loyal to your family, trying hard to raise a family, not to mention that you did not do well in your study during your young times, so end up doing menial jobs here and there and said that you are poor, I would had agree on it.
Anyway, that Uncle had started to work for us, he is quite good, know where to deliver food to those lorongs for those gals.

Every trade is a champion of it own, in fact, there are lots of opportunities in singapore, just that people are not inovative or creative enuf or simply have a labour mindset in them who just want to sit back on a 8 to 5 jobs and look for better paid. What to do, that is how our education and bring up system nurtured most to be, luckily me got some taiwanese culture in me to look at thing differently. Someone have to sell, someone have to buy and someone have to work for it

The final say still lies with employer himself/herself.Put yourself into the employee shoes, and you will be able to see how staff struggle to meets the end especially cost of living increasing over the years.
