well, been there, done that. Just vote with your heart. Vote what you think is best for the country.

And I am ok with people who vote for the PAP, so long as it's their choice that they want to support the ruling party.
What I cannot tolerate are the following people:
1) Vote PAP because worried that vote opposition will result in them being blacklisted
2) Vote PAP even though hate PAP, but hope that someone else will vote opposition to save them (idiots)
3) Vote PAP because worried votes can be tracked (idiots as well)
4) Vote PAP because cannot care less
These are the people who are selling their country out of unfounded fears, or who just don't care about the future of Singapore.

For most of them, the heart said vote for opposition, but when they reach the Voting station, they voted PAP, wonder if PAP did some black magic or charm around the voting area...all go there become like zombie and voted PAP instead.
My grandma who is not very literated, told me the civil servant officers mending the voting slip hand out told her, cross here is PAP, cross here is PAP, cross here is PAP...never said about the other column leh...so she blur blur crossed PAP.
You see, Singaporeans actually hor, after 50 years of PAP rules, had already get used to listen and follow the govt...they said sign here, you sign here, they said tick here, you tick here, they said, sign 20 pages while buy HDB flats, peoples also blur blur signed without even reading it. So, as time goes on, they might also use this psychological advantage on voting day. Cross here, you crossed here

Well, on the other hand, these very people will tell you that they have to think of themselves first and there's nothing wrong with that lol. I have a friend like that....disappointing that his mentality is so old school despite his age.

So what happened if someone was asked to sign here but instead sign there, asked to tick but put a cross? What can they do?
This myth have been circulating around for a long time.
But I don't really believe It.
Many people voted for opposition but nothing bad happened to them.
We vote with rational and calm mind not vote under fear of votes being tracked.
I know we are one of the top few surveillance soceities, but I really don't think the powers-that-be are so free.
Additionally, treating those who did not vote for you badly is not really going to be a way to win votes, if anything it will lead to more disgruntlement on the ground. The whole Potong Pasir/ Hougang upgrading saga should be a clear enough indication that Singaporeans have grown a bit beyond the stick and carrot approach towards determining who they would like to vote for.
If anything I always find the whole "hey vote for us and we'll upgrade your estate (I live in Hougang)" a tad bit condescending. I am more interested in the general and long term good of Singapore then if my flat has new lifts.

.......
This is bullshit.
Officials selected to man the polling booth are drilled to be carefull not to hint at any political party. They are always told cannot do this, cannot do that, cannot anything, just smile and use the whole arm to show the direction.
Somemore grandma not born yesterday.
Dint read all 5 pages, but seriously before they even do it. This forum will be raided first Obvious trolls like Cought cought will be caught first.

See the tick on the SDA poster. Wonder how many first timer who voted SDA did that on the voting slip?
But then SDA did it correct for Chiam.
I think the SDA failed in their vetting of the poster before print.
It they want those who vote for them to put a tick and spoil the vote, they risk losing their total collective deposit.
I don't recognise a single of those clowns in the 1st SDA poster. This is really stupid.

LOL.... Greatest joke in history..... They actually asked people to tick when tick is a spoilt vote.

Maybe they have hidden meaning for the tick?
Ask Potong Pasir voters to cross for Chiam but at the other areas, ask voters to tick to spoil votes.

Spoilt votes not counted... Means if people actually chose SDA.... but ticks... the vote is voided.... So means SDA loses a percentage of its vote.

i thot they said circle it, since when got cross and tick, cross mean cancel, the one u dun want, tick meaning that one is pass, no your concern, by drawing a circle, it prove that this is what you wanted inclusively.
what if there's this "typo" mistake and the tracker actually type wrong and put u as the "against PAP" .
then everything is gone. your job, your house, your family. your life.... is it?

In fact, those who voted against the PAP are getting exactly the same things as those who voted for the PAP. No difference mah.
walkover never voted n still got the same crap.
claiming that pap wins all the time because PAP is too 'scary' is just another half-assed, jealous excuse. what? u gonna get fired or imprisoned jus cause u voted SDA and not PAP? wow! that's scary! 0.0
yes even scarier when all the jobs in MNC are controlled by criminals as job agency bosses using undertable methodss to secure jobs all over singapore.
theres the gov to fught with and also the criminals who might also control the job market in spore MNC company.its hell in spore.
It is a myth!
I have asked this of a retired individual who used to work at the elections department!
