I think there's this myth circulating around for a long time about votes being tracked.
Believe it or not, alot of ppl still think voting is not confidential and votes can be tracked down.
I believe with the next general election coming,It's better to discuss about this.
Is this a myth? Is this a truth? Myth buster!!! Watch too much of the show.
Rule of thumb:
1) Always vote for ruling if you work in a stat board, unless your variable bonus, and promotion is not an issue to you.
2) Always vote for ruling, if balloting for a BTO flat and securing it is not an issue to you.
in before lock..

This myth is very powerful circulating for many years.
You meant after election they go see who din vote for them? They so free?
If so, the 33% in last GE get into trouble?

With the serial numbers, of course PAP can track down if they want to.
But what can PAP do with the 34% who voted against them? Has PAP so much time tracking millions of votes within the 6 months timeframe?
the question remains...
you think the idiots in MIW have so much time?

well, Uncle bear bear, remember last time got on Perm sec went to France and learn french cooking with his wifey for months++, my question is, if a perm sec got so much time, those Ministers would had more time lor.
I would said, laziness is the reason rather than no time
Where do you want your 3 meals? Hawker centre, food court, or restaurant?
they can track how many % of voters in a particular polling station vote for whom. this is verified one..
say Blk 100-120 ppl.. they go to Blk 100 void deck vote.. so this cluster of votes will be counted seperately, and combine with other clusters etc..
some weeks back in straits times, they reviewed each GRC.. said ppl in Seletar had their wet market demolished because many ppl voted against in the last GE
why need 3 meals, 2 meals cannot meh, no wonder all fat fat, obese, high blood, diabetics and lazy lazy

True, even if they don't trace your NRIC numbers, they just have to trace it to your mailing addresses. How do they send you your polling registration cards?

aiyo, like this, my dad last time draw a funny face on the voting paper and become spoil vote, maybe they knew it..die liao
Whether the PAP can track down my vote or whether the PAP cannot track down my vote, whether Lee Kuan Yew knows or whether Lee Kuan Yew doesn't know, I will still vote for opposition.
Even if the opposition sends a dog to my GRC, I will still vote for it.
It is a myth.
They do not go down and track every single voter. You think they very free is it. They do know however, the number of voters who voted for them in a single district (every ballot centre).
Anyway, shame on civil servants and Singaporeans who feel threatened over being traced down. Its freedom to vote, not having being tied to vote.
If PAP does well, vote for them.
If they are not good, don't vote for them.
The rule of thumb is to vote for whoever you think does a better job for you.

Agree. This is how it works.

This is a loser mentality.
Ironically, most Singaporeans are such sore losers. No wonder the opposition always loses.
They dun have time to check la....unless you are some top civil servant. Met a school prinicpal the other day and he has voted for opposition since god knows when. That's what he told me haha.
Anyway, I've got a silly friend, he voted for PAP even though he supports opposition. That's because he's afraid he cannot get his HDB. Haha this sort of fear factor exists till today.
Anyway, why do they keep telling us that "voting is secret"? In not one but four languages. What's the big deal if we let each other know the party we voted for?

the opposition doesn't always win is due to their quality.
most wants opposition to win, to have a different voice, to do different things, but most want it at their neighbouring wards, not their own..
look @ some of the comments supporting opposition, "Even if the opposition sends a dog to my GRC, I will still vote for it." Are we blind, senile to really give this a vote??
No offence.
