Latest news from Andrew Loh of TOC:
There seems to be some discrepancy in the total no. of tickets for YOG. ST reported in May that total is 320,000. On 7 Jul, the new figure is 245,000. Back then, they said sales were sluggish. Now they sales are brisk. When you got 100,000 tickets sold and MOE has purchased 80,000 of it, you call that brisk?
Second issue is that apparently, students are made to co-pay for their own tickets. What?? You fucking force me to attend and I still have to pay? Sounds like Lift Upgrading Programme? Your fault for not installing lifts on every floor in the 60s, you did not realise that people grow old one day and now you wanna make me co-pay for your mistake today?

fuck.. if i was a student, i'd not go..
Why PAP always like to force people to do things they don't like?
I thought MOE bought the tickets so that it could give students the opportunity to watch the event free of charge and at the same time fill up the sporting venues.
If you are going to force students to go and then make them pay partially for the tickets, then it really sucks.
It is a truth for all to see what the millionsters are good at.
Showing off at the expense of the tax payers money.
Not willing to fix real problems like over-crowding in MRT and buses.
Cracks are showing already.
As for students, it have also become money making tools for them to cover their failure.
I hope the parents will complain on the waste of time and they cannot focus on the exams.
I wonder where the money goes to.
I didnt see much improvement to the infrastructure... except for those big big banners saying Residents of XXXX welcomes YOG! And also those lanes painted with YOG logos.....
Anyone knows the pricing of the tickets? I need to gauge how much I should mark them up for sale.
Money spent on:
- Openning and Closing Ceremony.
- Booking of the ground (Water, Electricity, Cleaning)
- Housing and Food
- Marketing and Advertising on TV
- Booking of transport
But, with the number of boot lickers that will be sponsoring the event, it will be a left hand out and right hand in for the high price charged for the individual services.
Another way to get tax payer moneys on meaningless stuff which does not benefit the land or its people.
As for marking up of the tickets, there will be lots of supply as no one will be buying for a event that is more boring than a S- league match.
Maybe with little top athletes competing in the YOG, Sg might have a chance to top the medal standings.
They just want to make things look good so that we could stfu and vote for them. no way around it

if it is for the sake of temasek holding, suck or no suck do not matter much to them.
and dun say that they force the student, if you look deeper, they are forcing the parents of the student to pay for it, that is how they get back some of the Gst rebate ya.

No matter how the money is going to be spend, the amount is more important than the spending, cos by stating the amount, it advertise the grand of it, and usually if you said Millions, it attract people.
LOL
