Yes, only the top talent can come to the USA, but doesn't mean that those who choose to stay in Singapore aren't talents in their own right.
As I have highlighted, Singaporeans actually do well in whichever place we are in. As an example, I know a CIO, division chiefs, senior financial analysts, Singaporeans who do well in this part of USA.
The problem I have is with the Govt, who consistently insist our people are dumb in order to justify their policy of bringing in foreign labor.
I don't know how well you are doing in OZ, neither am I interested to know. All I know is that your thread subject "What has S'pore done for me?", smells of nothing but someone who isn't successful. A more relevant subject would have been "What has the S'pore govt done for the people?".
And someone who, after several rounds of debate, starts typing in CAPS, only demonstrates that someone's lack of maturity.

i tend to relate gov as my employees.if i wanna retain them i would ask them and myself what have ypu done so far?so if they din do much from day one......out they go!am i taking things for granted for each dollar?
first:from 1970-1980,what did they improve in my life?give me schools??a broken bus with rivets popping out every 15 minutes?cheap food??a safe enviroment?any country with a decent gov have all that in place the moment they took power!
second:from 1980-1990,what did they improve my life?give me blood ,curses and death during national service?give me an education to propel their industries?it had admission criteria in all education and not just anyone could get in!this gets juicier...as i grow older they give me more shit to swallow.and the reservist army unit demanded that every year and at every day of that year all my time and spare time belongs to them and is taken for remedial athelete army trainings etc etc.fines and jail for nort having the time after work for attending compulsory athelete remedial fitness trainings.
third:from 1990-2000,what did they give me in the industries???more blood and sweat from low pay due to foreign workers in all hightech industries and from data and salary scales in the industries all collapsed to a level insufficient to sustain personal growth.
fourth:show gov ultraman big fuck sign .....i'll show that too to anyone and anything!
well if i show a LACK OF Maturirty then u show a lack of intelligence and accountability .in fact from way you lost many things in the past...u seem to fit temasek holdings....the clown company with no accountability and intelligence....probably paid for them all at K-mart or sumpthing.

I mean, it's so easy to generate income here. At the rate I go, if I extrapolate linearly, I will reach my first million in my equity portfolio in 8 yrs. Well Hitman, after looking through all the bullshit in this 5 pages. Things are getting too far. I personally dont agree with the governement on some issues, many of us are still trying our best to fit into society and earn as much money as we can.
I give credits to those who really try hard and not moan at the slightest obstacle. If really you are happy with staying in another country, then so be it, grats. But afterall there are still a lot of people who treat singapore as their homeland and still trying very hard to survive.

Agree. I have never been to remedial training before.
After some time, I realized that keep fit is more for my own good, than about the IPPT. So I used IPPT as a motivation to keep me fit (and earn extra cash)
