guess those who left need their "breathing space" and willing to go for it
sometimes you cant help but feel suffocated in this garden city.. to leave may not be the easiest option to make, but to stay takes a lot of stress-relievers to keep you go

My take is that the top reasons they move is because1) Singapore is too competitive and the rat race is mad.
2) Wages are lower for alot of hard work.
3) No 'real' social safety net. e.g. out of job.... medical....
4) Education system e.g Children are streamed from an early age.... and wages for technical skills do not justify the work involved.

Not really. Some go back because its cheaper, some because of the food, mostly because family still lives in Singapore. If the whole family unit moved... chances are lower that they will return.Kind Regards

It all boils down to how you are going to utilise all the time and opportunities given to you and taking the necessary actions to improve your situations instead of flairing in despair and complaining.
Moving overseas is an action by itself to improve one's situation by some. Merely complaining and grousing does minimal to help.

i never said that they can be successful, sure people left for many reasons, can be culture, enivorment, atmosphere, job etc etc..what i am trying to say, make sure you study it properly, make the right decision and move without remorse.Man by nature are migrators and all these while, they are migrating since anicent times, same as today, peoples are migrating here and there for better life or believe they will get better life. The differences is that ancient nomads do not have a clear picture of where they are going, they travelled without much understanding of the terrain, the condition and the places. Unlike today, where informations are just a click away..you should be able to get to the right place with the right decision. It does not mean that when people said NZ is nice and good and so you go there, it can be good to other, but may not suit you. It is right of an individual to move and camp as he likes.

u mean life is not that stable and more like a gamble?even in oz???me isnt the gambling kind..if i see the industries norm around this town means its a lost arm or leg situation...i will refuse to work.full stop!no discussions even!
one thing i hate is gambling.....i will only gamble with nickles n dimes but that too i will be accountable and they must profit too.mind still thinks old fashioned old guard ways.my time and $$$ is accountable only to myself and i view it with great seriousness if that time or $$$ ends up nowhere or worse.whatever it is...it must be profitable!and i dont take scams n crap from any government or anyone.yup...even in gambling i win or forget about it.

I think eventually many singaporeans will leave due to high cost and stressful unhappy life...after all most of us do not have millions of net worth here in SG..
Sporeans just wanna live a happy life with families and friends...not becoming economic animals and die off with no meaning whatsoever

One old man who have over-lived his usage period.
He rated himself A or A- for bring all credits to himself and trying to instigate another change in a industry.
It is because of him that there are no other voices and no useful and effective people serving the nation.
He have employed a bunch of wayang masters who are good at organising meaningless events but short of curing important issues like the flash floods that happened within two weeks.
It also a waste of money paying these wayang masters who, in turn, inflated the price of everything to make more empty profit to satisfy the greed of the useless dragon prince.
